  1. I've recently shot my first IDPA match and realized that the way I grip XD's and Glock the slide doesn't lock open. They are totally functional, but my thumb keeps them from locking back. Is this going to be problem with RO's? I never really thought about it in IPSC because none of the Open or Limited guns lock back and I would rather not have to think about re-doing my grip, but will if I need to to be IDPA complaint.
  2. The XD trigger can be made pretty dang close to a good 1911 trigger, and 9mm ammo is cheaper, so I would suggest that route.
  3. Aftermarket, I'm not sure what the factory is doing, but most all of the important parts will be available. Sears (factory replacement, reduced travel, and gunsmith fit), sear spring, trigger return spring, mag releases, pins, recoil springs, magazine springs, and guide rods are all available aftermarket. SA sells OEM the mag spring and slide stop. So, besides the striker, I'm not sure why folks are fretting about parts. Barstock trigger bars might be available shorty also, so there are few parts you can't fix. I've shot lots of rounds through a couple of mine and only had the striker retension pins break. I've done enough guns to see other stuff go too, but no more than other stock guns.
  4. So can some of the XD parts very soon... DT, You might ask them to further define "major parts breakage". Sending it back to Springfield, in this case, isn't defining. As I understand it, Springfield isn't sending any part out...the average joe (even the above average gun shop) just can't get them. Thus, any little thing...gotta send the gun in. That in itself may be reason enough. M&P parts can be had from Brownell's.
  5. I have not just heard of it, but seen it numerous times. But how is that possible? A Glock can't break like those cruddy 1911's. Say it isn't so, Flex will be heart broken to hear that someone has seen a Glock malfunction or worse yet, break.
  6. Quit trying. It may sound understated, but it works. Enjoy each shot and put your focus on experiencing the shooting experience and I'd be willing to bet your funk goes away.
  7. Dang, how did you break 2 extractors in a month? That is very uncommon. The trigger and sear springs are available, as are the roll pins. I have a couple XD's that have a lot of rounds and no breakage yet (knock on wood.) Lots of folks are shooting the XD and really liking it.
  8. That is why I stated this "500 different XD's and ony a handful of them slapped hard enough to hurt" Most don't do it, some do. I understand his frustration, because I deal with customers all the time who get advise, like, "I've never seen it so it must not exist, you are just a sissy." Trust me, if your slaps enough to hurt, you will know it.
  9. Um, yes, it is my company so I know a bit about Springer Precision http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showforum=160 Hard trigger slap isn't that common. I've shot over 500 different XD's and ony a handful of them slapped hard enough to hurt.
  10. It is real. Every one in awhile I get one in that is painful (like a sharp sting to tip of the finger.) When the trigger comes back the spring is snapping the trigger safety into the tip of the finger will some force and it can hurt too. I test fire guns about every day, so I don't have sissy hands either. It takes a bit of rounding here and there and reducing the power of some springs so I'm afraid I can't post a "How to" reduce the slap, because you can mess things up if not done right and we all know how easy it is to get parts from SA.
  11. Don't forget gettin good hits on the target. If you don't practice aiming, fast doesn't matter.
  12. I gained 6 slots on one list and dropped 6 on the other, but at least I'm back on it, even if the number are really high for submitting it at 12:00:06 Oh, well, I did get into the Area 2 this year, maybe that used up my luck
