  1. I contacted Johnny by, of all things, Facebook. He responded in a day or so.
  2. Honestly, I've been shortening my .40 load substantially. I started in the 1.2 range and have shortened it by ..045" over time. There's absolutely no need to load long in my guns, so why bother? Both of my 2011s will feed anything without any tweaking, so loading long is just a waste of powder. YMMV.
  3. I crossed paths with JJ during the monster garage years. I worked for a company that built the axles for the ford bronco rockcrawler. He's a fabricator... the real deal. He's also a collasal douche bag and a narcissist. Made for TV to boot. I respect his skills and dedication to the craft but think nothing of him as a human being. Jr stayed out of the mudslinging, was humble and gave credit to his team anytime he was given a chance. Its a remarkable design and lovely execution, even if not entirely functional as a mode of transportation.
  4. Yep. I chrono'd a bunch of them in the last week and they're pretty consistent.... The only downside is my gun was accused of being a stinky stick. They don't smell good.
  5. Great fun. Thanks again! I am, however, baffled by the 30 pts of penalties I got on an IDPA stage... I don't see what was wrong with 2 mag changes on the fly and standing in the middle of a door way wailing away....
  6. Limited... I'm young enough to see the sights and too old to go fast.
  7. I'm evolving... been running MGs forever, but they've priced themselves out of the game. I've tried the Precision Molys and they smoke like hell with N320. Moved up to a Bayou Bullet 180gr and have been pretty darn happy thus far. Only time will tell.
  8. I can safely say there are 2 careers I won't be pursuing. Video editing and radio announcer. I hope I don't talk that way in normal conversations. Your pillow talk must be a hoot! Great instruction though! I have lots of hard chrome....
  9. I'd be FUMING mad if my custom guns didn't run 100% right out of the gate. Fortunately, with a gun builder like Virgil Tripp, I'm STILL waiting for a feed stoppage of any sort after 2 guns and 50k+ rounds. No tuned mags or special loads. Just add bullets from Wally World junk on up.
  10. I'm surprised to see that. That was a problem he ran into EARLY into the first prototypes. I had a couple that did that over a year ago.
  11. The good news is that my shooting is no longer threatening to targets....
  12. I have a zillion rounds on my Tripp sights. Tens of thousands. There may be some that have been problematic but I can vouch for ther solidity.
  13. How does it shoot? better than a Les Baer 1.5"? Exactly the same. Pull trigger, goes bang.
  14. I have a buddy with a Cheely .40 single stack that's just plain gorgeous.
  15. I'm a little surprised to hear of problems. I have 2 of them with literally 10,000 rounds on one and more on the other with zero issue. Either way the Tripps will get you squared away as soon as the can. I trust them infinitely.
  16. Bigger threaded shank will help this problem immensely.
