  1. I have both Wilson and Chip McCormick 10mm. I've grown partial to Chip's, the spring seems a little stronger and the base pad is a little bigger, easier to grab out of the pouch. But I haven't had any problems with the Wilsons that I can't blame on ammo. Edited for spelling, Duh
  2. Deputy Barney Pfife always carried 1 bullet in his pocket, single stack .45s have 8 rnd capacity but you can start with 9 in the gun so the one rnd you top off with is refered tp as a "Barney Bullet". So the mag in your pocket that you use to chamber the "Barney Bullet" is of course a "Barney Mag" (Barney - sorry if got the spelling of your last name wrong, haven't seen you in a while)
  3. At the indoor matches in Rawlins, WY they set the D2 X ring at the same height as normal except if you tell them your going to go prone. I don't what height it is then but they do it to avoid shooting holes in the ceiling.
  4. Does anyone have any experience with Midstates .40 180 gr. cast bullets?
  5. I'm using Wolf SP in .40 and 9mm. SR when I can get them in .38 super and .223. I've never had a problem.
  6. I converted a Serendipity using those instructions to fit an Alchin mount, worked perfectly, saved buying a new scope.
  7. .40 Trojan weighs in at 41.92 with a CMC mag, 41.44 with a Wilson. I drew the box dimensions on paper and it looks like it will fit with either mag. (the CMC basepad is bigger)
  8. Siphon, I just had a slide ride C-More re-bodied, it was cracked at the windage adjustment screw. I shipped it to them UPS which I paid for, they took all the parts off the the old body and put them in a new one, shipped back to me fo $59.75. It took about 2 weeks. Outstanding service! You just call them to set it up.
  9. I'm using Wolf in both small pistol and rifle, can't get Winchester and the Wolf are $25 less per flat from the supplier I'm using. Not having any issues with Wolf, they all go bang. I guess thats a little off topic for CCI primers.
  10. I was getting bored with open so I switched to SS, even at our monthly steel matches. It's really got my interest back up to high level. Almost having to re-learn the basics.
  11. 8.2 gr N350 W/ 124 gr MG CMJ Short gun
  12. 4.8 gr Win Super Target - 180 gr cast. 5.2 gr for MG 180 gr jacketed, 1.184 OAL for both. 172 PF Loads both run well in a Para Limited and an STI SS. WST burn rate must simular to 320? I'll have to give it a try next time I buy powder.
  13. Take out the elevation screw, should be a set screw under the top half of the sight. I use removable (blue) lock tight so it doesn't loosen up.
  14. I just asked about this on an another thread, didn't see the news on Pauls websight, this was a good match at one time. Brought in shooters from everywhere.
  15. Rumor is out, there won't be a 2009 match. Can anyone confirm or deny? It's one of my favorite matches.
  16. I haven't been to a match at Rio Salado since the 2001 Area 2, can anyone recommend a good hotel close to the range? How about restaurants?
  17. That works, I'll do the same to my 38 Super tool head. Thanks
  18. I'd be interested in this setup. How'd you move the powder measure linkage bracket that's attached to the primer feed?
  19. Right now we have at least $2,000 to pay out for division winners, (and it's growing), also minimum $500 to pay out for the shootoffs on Sunday. (I might shift the amounts one way or another before the shootoffs). THIS AINT YOUR TYPICAL STEEL MATCH, WE HAVE TROPHIES, CASH AND A #*@& LOAD OF PRIZES. Sponsors have so far donated about $9,500 in prizes to be distributed in the random drawings on Sunday. We have 65 or so shooters signed up, where else are you going to go and get an average payout of $150 bucks (random drawing) for a $75 match fee? Jerry has worked his butt off and the sponsors have really stepped up. I'll put out a complete list of them as soon as i can get it together. Bottom line - YOU NEED TO SHOOT THIS MATCH
  20. We're waiving all late entry fee's and refunding any that were paid. This match is 2 weeks before the World Speed Shooting Championships at Piru, this would be a goood warm up for shooters headed that way.
  21. Less than a month till the match, We are giving away 1 Glock, 4 Springfield XDs, and 2 Mossberg Rifles, plus a ton of other good stuff in a random drawing. Cash payback to place winners.
  22. I'm running 1.175, 4.8 gr. WST for a 174 power factor in a Para. I'm getting an STI Trojan in .40 next month. Anyone have experience with Trojans, feeding issues, or know if they are throated to take long loads? I'm hoping to use the same loads for both. I'm getting the Chip McCormick and Wilson mags cause the STI won't work with long.
  23. Hope your planning to do it again next year, I'd sure like to make it up there.
  24. Great match, If your going to spend a week shooting this is the way to do it! If you shoot the Winchester as well as the STI/Handgunner bring plenty of ammo, 1500 or so.
  25. Match Update Max Michel is conducting a steel shooting class in conjunction with the Colorado State Steel Challenge. The class will run 2 days, Thursday - Friday and the class will squad with Max for the match on Satuday. For more information see the Steel Challenge web-site. or http://www.uspsa2.org/uspsa2.htm#002.
