  1. Going to try and make both! I'll be retired by then!
  2. Mine is locking back with a round on the lifter. I can press the e-z loader and it will go forward, but if I rack the bolt, the next shell locks back. Any suggestions or solutions? Thanks!
  3. Shot one, just ordered one (versamax). Can't wait.
  4. Will the Dawson toolless guide rod work in the Edge? Is there a separate one for a standard 1911? Thanks
  5. Look at Brian Enos.com. There is a section on "which Dillion is right for you". That might give you an idea what you are looking for.
  6. 4 and a half hours is the closest match for me.
  7. Thanks to all for the responses. I did place them in the back pocket, and wore pants with big pockets for that reason. Question resolved, at least in my mind. ap
  8. I found this under the NROI Rulings: Table starts Created: 5/08/11 Effective: 5/15/11 Rule Number: 5.2.4 Applies to: Pistol Ruling Authority: DNROI Status: Released Question: I was wondering if on a table start if I could carry the magazines in my hand after the start signal when they are placed on the table, if they did not start in the magazine pouches as 5.2.4 states if I am shooting Production or Single Stack Divisions? Answer: Rule 5.2.4 is interpreted to mean that when the equipment has to start with the magazines or speed loaders in retention devices attached to the belt, for those divisions that have position restrictions of holster and other equipment, they must be in compliance with Appendix D item 12, unless stipulated in the WSB that places them on a table or similar start and not in the retention devices for the start position. Further, spare ammunition, magazines and/or speed loading devices carried in the hand after the start signal are not subject to the equipment position restrictions of Appendix D, Item 12. It seems like it would apply to the question at hand.
  9. In general, yes it might be (probably is) quicker to stuff the mags in the pouches, but with a single stack and a 32 round field course (set up for production) the pocket may be quicker to get moving if there's time for a slow reload between arrays. I was tagged with 2 procedurals for loading from the pocket (loaded 2X)since I didn't fill the mag pouches. Thanks, ap
  10. Unloaded gun, all magazines and gun on the table. Can the magazines be stuffed in a back pocket or do they have to go in the magazine pouches to be used during the course of fire? No specification as to where the magazines must be placed in the WSB. Thanks
  11. I believe retired LEO's are eligible. I have seen some compete in matches in NM.
  12. Just bought a case of them and am very happy. They feed well and are accurate in my gun (38 super).
  13. I went to Rogers a few years back. Great school. I used a 9mm. Lots of shooting, so I think it helped with fatigue.
  14. I had pretty good luck with titegroup (4.4 I think) and a 115 rainier hollow point. Didn't try 124's. For that kind of accuracy, you'd probably have to experiment with 50 yard grouping and see what works best. I found that different guns liked different loads. A friend and I tried ww silvertips. In his gun, they went 2 inches @ 50. Mine, same gun, went 6 inch groups from the same box of ammo. This being from a ransom rest.
  15. I tried one of the EGW dies as well, thinking that the problem was the base being too fat at the base to chamber. Turns out it was the length after I checked all the rounds with the Dillon case gauge and still had a couple of jams. Finally figured out it was the length. I went back to the standard Dillon sizer die. I just wondered if this was a common problem or maybe my gun's chamber was a little short. Maybe a touch short or I hate losing brass that much Thanks for the replies! ap
  16. I did notice the rim in the gauge, but the cases don't seem to hit it and stay out of the gauge. The gauge is a Wilson, I think I got it from Dillon. It seems that the chamber may be a bit short. Hmmmmm. Thanks!
  17. Thanks for the responses. Bulged cases are not the issue. I check them with a Wilson case gauge or one from EGW. That doesn't seem to check the length. It is the overall case length that is giving me the fits. I am using +P brass. I have used a case length gauge after sizing, but that's a pain. I use the barrel now to check for chambering on the length. Just wondered if anyone else saw the same issues or if possibly my chamber was a touch off.
  18. I was searching as I have the same problem on occassion. After a couple of reloads, after practice or local matches, some of the 38 super brass was too long and the slide wouldn't close. 124 MG CMJ's, 1.235 OAL I haven't shot many lost brass matches, so the brass gets reloaded. Is this common, or do most people lose the brass before it gets too long? Thanks, AP

    N320 v Clays

I have used both, and use Clays now due to cost and availability. 4.1 - 4.2 with Lasercast or Precision 200 SWC give me about 850 FPS.

    SNOW

We're only going to get a foot or so here, but it is blowing and the high tomorrow will be a ZERO.
  21. Military can buy their time back. The time applies for annual leave accrual (higher rate) and retirement. I spent almosgt 6 years on a local PD before going to the Border Patrol. I missed the people, but never looked back in 25 years. Every agency has some issues. And there is opportunity to promote and transfer. It isn't always quick however. It is a lot faster now than when I joined. ap38
  22. 1. Shooters are great people to be around. I broke my rear sight and had numerous offers for borrowed guns (thanks Marc) and replacement sights. 2. Nationals is not a good time for the first match of the year.
  23. Sunset near Sims, Montana.
  24. I have one of each. I only put an ICE magwell and extended button on the STI. Had a lot of work done on the Para. Both run great. I prefer the STI. The only time I had to send it back, for something minor, the STI customer service was fantastic. ap
