  1. I didn't see anything posted yet. If this is a duplicate, I apologize. As I was perusing SHOT show I came across this. Dillon has beefed up their trimmer to handle 300 Blackout processing:
  2. You have something in your setup that isn't quite right. Unstable bench or excessive case feed movement may be your issue. No man can out load a MBF ... I never said anything about out loading the feeder. That is definitely not possible. I have been in contact with Rick (inventor of the Mr. Bulletfeeder) and I have some leads on getting things resolved.
  3. "Patent pending" is meaningless. It could mean they filed a provisional patent and are simply re-filing every year to state "patent pending" with no intention of filing a full utility patent. I'm not saying that's what this particular person is doing, but don't be too impressed with that phrase. Dillon has already stated it will void the warranty.
  4. In my experience it doesn't speed things up THAT much. The press can only run so fast before powder flies everywhere or some other issue arises. I found that my hand placement of .223 bullets wasn't that much slower than when the feeder was operating. That's why I haven't tinkered much with it again. I don't think I'm losing that much speed without it. It does make things more convenient, but I wouldn't say it's a must have for the press.
  5. I have two Mr. Bullet Feeders (new versions) that I got at the same time, each hanging on a 1050. One for 9mm and one for .223. The 9mm one has served me well with very little problems. The .223 one has been a nightmare. Inverted bullets, constant jams so bad I would always have to remove the entire dropper assembly from the tool head to completely disassemble the system. I finally stopped using the .223 one and just left it hanging there for now. YMMV.
  6. Eight feet of width should give you plenty of room for two 1050s. For reference, this is my reloading bench and it is eight feet wide: The "T" section is two feet wide. I could probably squeeze in a total of five 1050s if I removed the Co-Ax and stuck another one in that two-foot middle section. 48" is a good amount of space for two 1050s, but you may prefer a little more elbow room. Mine are on aluminum plates that are attached to 80/20 rails so I can move them back/forward as needed.
  7. I went against the grain and got a 650 for my first press. As has been stated, if you have some mechanical aptitude, it's really not that hard to pick up if you pay attention to detail. I think you'll be well served with a 650. However, now that I'm sitting on 15k pieces of 9mm brass to process (with plenty of crimped brass in there), I've just added a 1050. As soon as I builed a new bench to fit everything, I'll have it set up.
  8. I don't think anyone regrets getting "too much press." It's similar to buying a computer; nobody regrets getting a processor that's "too fast" or having "too much memory." You can always grow into it (or sell it if it really is unnecessary). If you can afford a 650, I say go for it. I've got one and I'm more than pleased with it.
  9. Dan makes good gear. I've got the Skylight on order for my 650 and just received the Ceiling Light, I just need to install it.
  10. I was at the courthouse yesterday and I could not believe how many t.v. trucks were parked in front of it. I can only imagine the media circus that place will be.
  11. He's set to appear in court tomorrow (Tues). I've got to be there too. I'm not looking forward to that circus. Hopefully the Juice finally gets Juiced.
  12. I've mangled my fair share of primers on my 650, but have yet to have any go off (knock on wood). And safety glasses are a MUST! Anytime I'm working with primers I wear my safety glasses. Better safe than blind. Enjoy!

Here's my response after emailing Halprin:
  14. As an addendum, I finally got some time to use Dillon's alignment tool and see about aligning my platform. Between the fresh alignment and a new, slow and steady pace, I was able to load up a few hundred 9mm last night. The problems seem to be a thing of the past. I'm much happier now! Thanks to all who helped!
  15. I've got a 650 with a Lee FCD loading 9mm and haven't had any problems with the locater buttons. Definitely give Dillon a call on that one.
  16. I think this gets lost in all the excitement over Parker. This is likely the most probably outcome. But anything positive from SCOTUS would help.
  17. I'll take that bet. Parker has a couple things going for it: (1) There is a division amongst the Circuits regarding the 2A (individual vs. collective right). SCOTUS prefers to resolve these conflicts when given the opportunity. (2) This is the first 2A case the Court has heard in decades. They may not get another chance anytime soon. Parker gives them a rare opportunity to interpret a part of the Constitution that is seldom addressed. This also provides the opportunity to leave a legacy (a la Roe v. Wade, although some people may not see it as major a decision, I'd disagree). I think (and hope) cert. is granted. The "Rule of Four" is all that's required. I'd think there's four Justices on either side of the ideological divide that would want to take this on.
  18. When I spoke with Dillon CS they did recommend looking at my technique. This was something I started thinking about as well. All very good points folks, thanks. Once my replacement parts get back I will slowly get back into it. I need to work on my rhythm.
  19. This is what I'm using for a digital: http://www.uniquetek.com/site/696296/product/T1251
  20. Thanks guys. I'll call Dillon and look into the indexing issue.
  21. I recently purchased a 650 with just about everything from BE ( ). However, I'm running into a recurring problem. I'm starting out with my 650 loading up some 9mm rounds. I'm loading mixed brass with 5.0g of WSF, 124g Zero FMJ-RN, and Winchester Small Pistol Primers. This is what happened tonight as I tried to load my second batch of 100 rounds: My primer index arm is now bent, again, along with the primer index spring, again. (problem appeared before-only not as pronounced). The sideways primer........well I just don't get. But, I had two cases sheared onto: (1) my sizing die; and (2) my casefeed body bushing. It seems my 650 is a complete jam-o-matic. The shellplate appears to be out of synch with the primer punch. This requires me to stop, take off the shell plate and tinker/empty/reload the primer magazine. This isn't what I paid for. Before I put my call into Dillon CS I thought I'd see if anyone here had any ideas on what was up.
  22. I just submitted my letter. Thanks for the link!!
  23. On my 550b I am using the same stuff except the powder check die which there is not room for. Plus the UniqueTek micrometer powder bar. I change powders like other people change socks. Ahh, I love Uniquetek. I think I've bought everything they make for the Dillon. Now I'm waiting for the 2x size powder measure tubes to come out.
