  1. feederic You might check with 10-8 or LAV on the status of that course. The 10-8 web site shows the Cerritos course as "STATUS: RESCHEDULED / TBA" I was checking into the Feb course in FL and was told the CA class was canceled. gr
  2. Bruce, Some browsers have trouble launching PDF files direct to the screen. Right click on the hypertext link choose the "Save Link Target As" option. Save to your hard drive, then upon completion of the download choose the "Launch File" button, that should do it.... good luck, gr
  3. For those that are interested......... Squad Assignments and Shooting Schedule are now posted on the Area 1 Championship web page http://www.wnpl.org/2004_area_1.htm laters, gr
  4. I, also shot this one Sunday .........had a pretty good run L10 5.3 sec 55 pts 10.3774 HF I figure it should be somewhere around 88% that should help the quest............ kdj, was nice to see a P7 in the game, hope to see you back laters, gr
  5. Erik, Last I heard Richmond Sanitary 14yd dumpsters were $400+ each for drop and pick up............ not to mention the idea of sheet steel for balistic dividers........ laters, gr
  6. David, I should be there this weekend......like you said, last tune up before the Infinity. Lest some mid week practices pop up Hopefully work won't get in the way of my fun..... Hope to see you there, gr
  7. Sheldon, Try contacting Ned Christiansen at Michiguns, he is also doing grip recontouring on Glocks. I have not had him do this for me, but know someone who did and is very happy with the job. http://www.m-guns.com/index.php should get you started, there are a couple of pictures in the photo section that show the result laters, gr
  8. Chuck, Welcome to the forum........... I haven't been down your way this year. I shot a few of your matches the previuos year and always enjoyed them. You guys put on a good match, keep up the good work and if I am down that way again I will be sure to stop by. So you guys built your own ? If I recall it was an electric motor wih the shaft driving the windmill............ T.O.E. have you thought about having one fabricated locally ? ? laters, greg
  9. Erik, I shot the same one in Fresno, had it set up behind a solid wall passing a small window.........like you said loose track of where you're at and it's all over.........it was at their Super Match 50+/- round stage, shooting L10 with only 6 mags..........couldn't stage my reloads, went to slide lock in the middle of the windmill, following the reload I had no idea where I was at T. O. Erik, I will see the "Fresno crew" at Oakdale on Sunday, if they are there I will get what info I can regarding thier set up and relay it to you.. laters, greg
  10. Shot this yesterday..... Turned into the gun (right handed) , shot left to right, then right to left L10 5.72 sec 54 pts 9.4406 HF If my calculations are correct (TIS ? ?) I believe it should be around 87% laters, gr
  11. George, I have a Dillon 650 and I tried the same thing finishing out some powder.......... Same results as you and I agree with your conclusion. laters, gr
  12. Dowter, Dave, et al A little correction/clarification............ The extra letter is added to the shooter name it appears to be a middle initial, not to the USPA#.........done only for the additional gun(s). They put a T for the L -"T"en, L for limited, P for production and R for revolver........ Dowter , The white out of the letter is only to avoid any confusion with the submission of classifiers.......may not be the "cleanest" method but has been working for a long time. laters, gr
  13. Dave, I talked to the scorer this weekend. He says he just adds a single letter to the USPSA #. For the after match score posting, no big deal if it is there. As for the classifier sheets sent to USPSA, he simply covers the letter with a bit of white out............. low tech solution to a high tech problem. Dowter, I told him of the method you use and he might give it a try. He said he is using an older version, so wasn't sure if it would still work. laters, gr
  14. Dave, Sounds like Dowter has the answer......... This might be what they are doing as on some of the printouts there is usually an extra letter in the reg number I'll still check and see laters, gr
  15. Dave, I can probably get you the answer this weekend. I'll talk to the score keeper in Oakdale as they allow multi-gun entries. I have shot 2 guns there many times and both show in the results and both classifiers have made it to USPSA. laters, gr
  16. BD, If you are not set on the 135g Sierras....... I have shot a fair amount of the Laser-Cast 155g RN with 3.8g of TiteGroup with an OAL of 1.170 . Consistantly around the 830 fps/128 PF out of 5" Barstow barrel. Very accurate easy shooting load. Can't get much more in the OAL as you will be nearing the lube ring. I have also shot 3.6g with an OAL of 1.155 don't remember the fps/PF but it was in the same area This is short of the velocity you are looking for, for your lead, but I thought I'd throw it your way....... Moderate amount of smoke.... As for chrono to chrono variation I can't say as I have only run it across mine. laters, gr
  17. TIS, Thanks for cleaning this up............... I had looked for the original and thought it might have got lost in the transition.........sorry if I had created some redundency laters, gr
  18. TIS, Thanks again .......... 78% will help the progress, laters, gr
  19. Shoot this one today......... Shot pretty relaxed pace and it paid off with the hits........ L10 8.4s 56 pts 6.6667 HF Using the above info it should be in the 77% range........ So ...... TIS is that about what your "little book" says ? ? laters, gr
  20. Eric, That was a pretty nice run..... and if you'd had the 2 A's ............... I dumped it pretty bad, came out of the holster nice, but didn't stay with the first shot, missed the first popper came across the middle 2 poppers and the paper really well and dropped the last shot...so had two poppers to make up so at that point the run was pretty much gone......... Well it was consistant with my overall poor perfomance for the day... laters, gr
  21. TIS, Thanks for the numbers......... one of the other shooters at the match had told me what they should be but I hadn't written them down and I knew the ballpark, but couldn't remember the actual %........... Thanks again and take care laters, gr
  22. Shot this a couple weeks ago, Limited 20.79 sec 107 pts 5.1467 HF L-10 23.79 sec 109 pts 4.5818 HF Will be curious to get the %s on these..... Shot it the same way as THS.... Would have a better run on the Limited had I not "gotten lost" on the 3rd string......almost forgot the reload....... laters, gr (Edited by kahana at 10:10 pm on Jan. 28, 2003)
  23. Jon, L10 5.6974 HF equaled a 61.2% don't have a limited score for that one laters, gr
  24. TIS, You were right on the money.......... L10 9.322 HF 69.7 % Didn't get the move into B though.........two of my best scores expired and I have one tanker sitting there that prevented it.....oh well.......next month... laters, gr
  25. Bill, Good question.......... I have looked, as have others I know and are yet to find anything in the LGB that addresses written COF discriptions. I took (not without protest) a procedural over the discrepency in the written COF discription and what was said in a walk through.......... THE COF said to aproach a barracade and shoot an array of targets from behind cover of the barricade. I had a great run and was happy until I heard them say I had one proceural for shooting from the right side of the barracade......... I say, so what ......they say you have to shoot from the left side of the barracade I go back look at the COF, tell them to show me where it says that.........it doesn't.........the stage designer (also the MD) says it was covered in the walk through I, (as well as some other shooters) say I didn't hear that...... .....they say one procedural......... I looked in the LGB to make my arguement and couldn't find any rule addressing the stage description or COF requirements............ Addressing another issue ...........stage design should be designed to challenge a shooter, not to try and make him screw up.........another peeve of mine....... laters, gr
