  1. OP flipped primers can be caused by the plastic tip on the primer feed tube, check and make sure that it is not damaged or being hit by the primer cup each time it returns. Looks like your other issues have been cured. Other than the primer issue would you say that the 750 was a good upgrade from the 650 I have been seriously thinking about doing it because I like the individual primer feed system on the 550.
  2. I'm definitely getting contact and causing pressure spikes I blacked a couple bullets after going all the way down to 1.065. A load that is working every other nine millimeter I have including running flawless in my MPX. Is showing pressure signs in the X5.
  3. I just picked up a new Sig X5 Legion. Looking at my standard load, That I have been loading in 9 MM forever MG 124 JHP 4.0 grains of titegroup at 1.095. Testing with my dummy rounds indicates that this could be too long for the SIG. Does anyone here have experience with Montana gold jacketed hollow points and the X5 Legion for overall length. I'm really hoping I can use this bullet as I have several thousand on hand. Thanks
  4. Thank you for those that took the time to give me a reply. Great info.
  5. I was just wondering if any of you guys had a recommendation on somebody to open the throats on my 627 cylinder. I do not want to attempt this project myself, I would prefer to have a professional who has much experience do the job. Thanks
  6. Looks like 8.0 of hs6 is a good starting point with a MG 124.
  7. Like the title says I'm just looking for a good safe starting point with Hs6 in 38 super using a Montana gold 124 hollow point. I'm going to be running this load in a Clark custom built Caspian. Thanks
  8. Hey guys just picked up a double stack Caspian open gun built in the 90s. Looking to update the C-more mount to something direct instead of having a Picatinny setup. Currently the gun has a double sided 4 hole "scope doctor" mount. Can anybody give me a place that has a single-sided mount that I can connect the C-more directly to instead of having the extra mount. I would love to use the existing holes in the gun if I can. thanks
  9. This kind of goes along with Seanc's question. I am using my 627-3 V comp 357 mag with short Colts and Berrys plated bullets for USPSA matches. I am getting good results but would like to use cast lead and coated bullets for practice and cost savings. I have run into some erratic velocity issues using tite group and 170 grain coated bullets. After talking with my bullet caster and checking my cylinder throats they appear to be around.356. I was contemplating having them reamed to .358 and was wondering what you guys thought about the possibility of loss of accuracy using jacketed and plated bullets. thanks
  10. This is almost identical to my load except I use Berry's plated.
  11. I just recently was looking for a moon clip holder and based on recommendations here I went with North Mountain. I'm very pleased with the decision and will be using it for the first time in a match tomorrow. They even had one that worked with my "enhancement"!
  12. I recently started playing with short Colt loads in my new 627. I have set up the dies so that I am able to use a roll crimp in a Lee Factory Crimp Die. I noticed a lot of guys on here are using 9 millimeter taper crimp. Is there a reason that is done or is it just for convenience. I seem to be having great luck and good accuracy with 3.4 grains of tite group and a Berrys 158. I have not chronographed the load yet but it feels good and extracts well.
  13. I would get a newer gun. The older Smiths are going up in value every day!! Just buy a -5 without the lock and you should get what you need without extra cost.
  14. Thanks for all the responses. I found a CR speed in the classifieds for a good price, I am going to go with the NM + sized 4 post holder. Time to order some Short colt and get started. Last Q stainless or blued hearthco clips from T K Custom. Thanks
  15. Still USPSA legal? And let's say I lose the "enhancement" can the spacers be removed? Thanks
  16. Thank you for all the responses. How do the North Mountain setups work if you have a let's say large protrusion directly above your belt. LoL
  17. I am planning on shooting revolver only in USPSA this year. I picked up a 627-3 vcomp and I am looking for the best holster. What do you guys think about the Double Alpha rigs? Or any other brands that you guys might like. I would also like input on moonclip holders and loaders/unloaders. Thanks
  18. Thank you for all the responses. Looks like I will just stick with an 8 shot 357.
  19. The 986 is still a slab side barrel, I want it to be the same basic size and shape as my 625 5 inch. I just have a thing for 5 inch Smith revolvers!
  20. I was wondering if anyone thought S & W might put out a 929 with a Full profile 5 inch barrel? And if there were any custom guys who could make one if Smith does not at some point? thanks
  21. Dillon is the Caddy.......Hornady is the Ugo, both will get you there. But the Dillon is a better ride and looks better to!
  22. Just as the title says I am looking for a good load using tite group in .40 with a 200 grain coated Ibeji bullet. Thanks
  23. You are not truly a Dillon owner untill you have cleaned battery acid out of your low primer warning!
