  1. If the hosts of the "gallery" wants to delete this post it's OK with me. I just wanted to make sure that I knew how to post pictures on this site. Thanks for your help. Jim
  2. jhgtyre, Thanks for the reply. How about now? I think that I fixed it. Jim
  3. This picture seems to work some time other times I just get a box with an "X" in it. Is it working for the rest of you? Jim
  4. Kurt, I am no expert but I like to tilt the barrel down a little to allow gravity to help get the round into the tube. I agree that weak hand loading is not only for pistol grip shotguns. Jim
  5. I just resigned at the beginning of the month from the company that I have been working for. Due to ongoing projects that I have I agreed to stay on till the end of the month. Nearly two weeks have gone by and I am ready to go... I hate the waiting game. Have a nice weekend. Jim
  6. I took the picture and searched the site for instructions on how to post it but could not find anything. I guess I get an "F" on searching the site. Could one of you please lead me to a post that tells how to post pictures here. Thanks Jim

    Wallmart

Paul B, It was my understanding that all of the Wal-Mart’s pulled their guns off the shelf due to infractions with the DOJ firearms sales rules. It must have been just here in Kalifornia that it happened. I agree that they are the best deal for 9mm, 22 and 12 Ga. shotguns that I have found at a local business. Thanks for the info! Jim
  8. A33435, Glad you figured out your problem. I live in California so getting a "new" 15 round clip is not possible. We are stuck with fixing our old ones Jim

I am sure that you have heard that Wal-Mart got in trouble and have pulled all their guns off the shelf. I was getting nervous that soon the ammo would go also. I like their 9mm and shotgun shell prices so I called them. The official word is that their staff is going through retraining for the sales of firearms and they will restock the guns as soon as they have completed training.
  10. Jon, I was not a part of this group when you made your first post but I would be proud to be one more person on the list of people that pray for your daughter’s healthy future. God bless the children... Jim
  11. I shoot PMC at competition and Armscor for practice. I have had the Armscor jam in my Bushmaster a couple of times but the PMC's have not given me any trouble. I found that if I do not try to load the magazine to the max that solves the Armscor problem. I have had a little work done recently on the AR and it seems a little more particular about what round that I put through it but it now shoots like my 10/22 and is more accurate at long range. Jim
  12. Well I finally ordered a Benelli M1 yesterday. Wish me luck! Jim
  13. ryucasta, I don't have the part number with me right now but we used the Hicap 9mm follower. Let me know if it works for you as well as it has worked for us. A33435, We have not tried the followers on the stock glock mags please let us know if they work on those as well. Jim
  14. We have found that using 9mm followers in our 40 cal Scherer tubes are working flawlessly in several competitors model 35's. We had some trouble with tuning the 40 cal followers and gave the 9mm follower a try. Surprise surprise surprise. I would have thought it would not work but we have had several people try it at several matches without a jam. My thanks to Taren for sharing the idea with us. Jim
  15. I have been considering getting a Marvel 22 conversion http://marvelprecision.com/. I have seen reviews on the Wilson & Kimber but no comparisons with Marvel. For those of you who have tried them which one do you recommend and why. I will be putting the conversion on my Kimber Gold Match. Dowter, What is it that you do not like about the ciener conversion. Thanks, Jim
  16. I used Hard Cast bullets in my 45 and got lots of build up just as TBF described. Thinking that I was loading too hot I kept working the load down. The leading got worse. I then started using plated bullets because it would take forever to clean my 1911. Duane I would like to know what load you are using with your lead bullets and if you know what velocity they are moving at. Jim
  17. Tightloop, The blaster... let's see... maybe a 1911... maybe a sig... to tell the truth I'm not sure it just looked cool and I needed something different from the rest. Jim
  18. Thank you all for your responses. I would have answered sooner but I could not get logged onto the site due to its new location. Seeing that I still have about 4 Lbs of Tightgroup left I dropped down to 4.6 grains of Tightgroup with 180 gr FMJ on a 100 test rounds last night and will drop it down to 4.3 tonight and give it a try at the range on Saturday. I am using a 13# captured spring for competition but so far the stock spring has worked during practice just a well as the 13# one does. Once again I want to thank all of the great folks here at Brian's site for your opinions... You’re all great! Jim
  19. I was not having any problems with the Brassman's once fired 40 cal brass but I got the EGW die anyway just to be safe. I have noticed that the rounds slide into the case gauge even easier than before. I think it is always a good idea to look at any brass that you reload. If anything looks suspect toss it. I also spent the $165 for the KKM barrel which will give me a little more case support. I look at it like a small insurance policy or just something to give me a little better piece of mind when my family and I shoot Glocks. By the way I really like my 35 now that I am getting use to the trigger. I don't expect the trigger to ever be as nice as my Kimber but I look at the Glock as a tool, a tool that is reliable and works well for blasting steel and paper. JMTCW Jim
  20. This topic could either be here or in the reloading section but I thought this might be a better place. I have two sons one that is 16 and the other is 14. I have gotten my 16 year old (Brian E.) a glock 35. I have also gotten the same gun for myself so we can compete together in USPSA/IPSC competitions. My younger son (Matt) is feeling left out and so I want to get him a 35 also but he does not like the 40 as much as the 9mm (I think because of the recoil). I know that he will grow into the 40 and want to shoot with the power factor advantage once he gets into the sport. I would like to load down a 40 to develop recoil similar to a 9 mm if possible. Currently I am loading 3.9 grains of tight group with a 180 grain armscor FMJ. I also have my concerns regarding the 6 o'clock guppy that could be a safety issue with the glocks so I am thinking about getting the boys a KKM barrel. I did some research and it sounds like even the KKM barrel does not offer full case encasement such as you would get in a SV. What are your thoughts and comments on these two dilemmas? Jim
  21. I just got a thousand 40's and a thousand 45's. I am working up a load for them now and will let you know how they shoot. Others shooters in my area use them and have no complaints. I also use the 223 ammunition for practice but still use PMC for the competition. There is an occasional jam with the second or third round out of a full 30 round mag. Jim
  22. Thank you for the information. I have ordered the die and 2000 more once fired 40 cal brass as well as another 2000 45 acp from the brass babe. That should be good for about another month of practice and competitions. Jim
  23. I did a search for "EGW" and could not find a link. Do any of you know how to contact them? I just got a glock 35 and I have been reloading with Dillon dies and have not seen a problem yet. I would prefer to have the die prior to needing it. Thanks for your response. Jim
  24. I attended my first 3 gun this weekend with my son and brother in law. On one of the rifle stages the course of fire was one paper one steel one paper with 6 positions to shoot from. There were 2 paper targets and 6 plates. I had the opportunity to see gaming and how it escalates. Some of the shooters were good and the competition between them was fun to watch as the times dropped. As far as the other squads who did not game the stage it was not really fair in my opinion because they shot it exactly as it was described by the designer. I heard no mention of Comstock or Virginia rules and that was one of the shooters complaints. The stage designer said it was not his intent for them to blast 3 rounds at the plate and then shoot the paper at the last of first stage. Some shooters were smoother than others and made the attempt at the paper but really drilled it from one stage. There were valid points on both opinions and as a first shooter of this type of competition it was a great learning experience for my family and me. This is one great sport I wish I would have started years ago when the body could keep up with the mind… Jim
