How do you mark your brass ?

I'm shooting 38 super comp and need to mark my brass so I can sort it out of everybody else brass at the range. Right now I am using a magic marker to draw a black ring around the base but it is time consuming. Is there a special tool or a better method to mark brass so I don't lose it ?

Get a jumbo sharpie, they have some with .5" tip, with the rounds in a bullet case you can just swipe across the bases and cover them completely. It should only take a few seconds to do 100... just 10 swipes.

I haven't tried it, but maybe an ink pad. Just tap the head on the pad. I still use the colored sharpies to denote different charges in my test rounds.

I mark my brass the same way as grumpy, on the case itself....IMO it's the better option since I can see the stripe when it's still on the ground vs having to pick up the brass to check the head stamp area for the stripe. 

I does take longer to mark but it's easier to pick out without having to bend over so much.

That stripe on mine is 1/4" wide...very easily noticed.

I bought 5000 once fired, matching head stamp, Speer gold dot nickel plated cases. Easy to identify because there the only ones on the range.

Once boxed, I just swipe a sharpie across each row.  Takes less than 5 seconds per 100 rnds.  Ive used more than one color too.
