wanttolearn
Hi, I recently had a c-more optic mounted for an open pistol build. I was doing the initial sighting in and when i went to unlock the locking screw on the elevation screw. i used the ball end of an allen wrench which promptly broke off flush with the top of the screw. I'm at a loss as to how to remove the broken allen wrench portion without buggering up the sight or the c-more. thank you

Mbauer67
Try just pulling it out with a sharp pair of dykes or needle nose. Grab it and turn it in the opposite direction it broke off.
toothandnail
I've broken those type allen wrenches a number of times, only once was I successful getting the piece out. It was a large enough allen I could weld a nut to the broken piece. Good luck.
sustratiotes
Try taking it to a jeweler. They may have the tools to remove it.
Toolguy
The ball on these is only for turning in and out. The other end is for loosening and tightening. Try hitting it with a punch and hammer. make sure to only hit the ball part and not the screw. The best way is to try to rotate it clockwise with the punch (opposite of break direction). Once it is loose, it will dump out or be pulled with a magnet.
Aircooled6racer
Hello: Toolguy has it right. You can also try a dental pick to pry it out. Good luck and take your time. Thanks, Eric

BigGabe
I got my dentist to save me his old dulled up dental burrs. They create too much heat for teeth but work great when inserted in the right size dremel chuck to grind on metal. You might be able to get it out using something similar to that, grind on it then use a magnet to pull it out.
