HARD CHROME where ?

I've always used METALIFE or more recently, TRIPP.

Friend of mine wants to hardchrome his back-up gun.

Said METALIFE isn't returning his calls or emails.

I know Tripp doesn't chrome anymore

Can anyone recommend a good hard chrome shop ?

Try Metaloy in Arkansas, with the SHOT Show over it should be easy to get a hold of someone.

Brazos offers a Hard Chrome custom option if buying a gun there, I'm sure they would have a price for a send-in customer job (could be the same).

Chris Peters of Metaloy just did my EGW pistol. I put it together and shot it with 100 rounds with no jams. Chris has been doing hard chrome for many years. He knows what he is doing. This is the fourth pistol he chromed for me.

Check to see if there's an industrial plating outfit in your area that will do hard chrome - you'll have to detail strip and just take them the parts, but you'll get it faster, no shipping mess, and waaaay cheaper.

Local place here does $90 for a small parcel of parts, equalling two pistols. They can also bead blast or polish stuff first.

+1 on Fords Guns in Crystal River,Fl. They have done several for me, blued and hard chromed. They do the best hi polish blue I have ever seen, second only to dome blue Colts and early Smith's. Ed

May also want to check with Bob Cogan at Accurate Plating and Weaponry. I have never had any work done by them personally but have always heard very positive things about their plating and pistolsmithing work.
