Tul9033
I used to load the Hornady H35597 (.355) 9MM 147GR FMJ-RN ENC bullet. I really like this bullet for a couple of reasons, it was FMJ, round nose and fully encapsulated (no lead exposed). It also had something like a boat tail on it making it easier to reload. This was just a good all around accurate, easy to load bullet. This was my IDPA bullet. The problem is Hornady has stopped making it. I've used Montana Gold's which are pretty good, but I still miss those Hornadys. Anyone have a suggestion for something close? Thanks!
coframer
I just purchased some 147gr FMJ FN from Precision Delta. My first time loading 147's. Pretty good bullet, I loaded it light and they seemed accurate. I was hitting steel @30yrds out consistantly with them. In fact I'm gonna load what I have left for the local match this weekend. I'll probably stick with the 124's.
TerryO
I think you've got the best substitute with the Montana Gold, that would be my choice anyway. You also can go with Zero hollow points. They have the enclosed base because the jacket is formed from the base up. I like not having exposed lead at the base. Sure keeps your gun clean. DWFAN
What about the Hornady XTP ? It has the boattail. Pricey, but a nice bullet. Montana Gold has a 147 CMJ (complete metal jacket).
Joe4d
I really loved the Hornady HAP .40's most accurate bullet I tried, then "POOF" no where to be found or ungodly price so started shooting Precision Delta and Precision Moly.
Aircooled6racer
Hello: Try the Precision Moly bullets. They are great for IDPA. You may also try the Montana Gold 121 IFP's. I like the 121's in my Glock 17 and 34. You can get the Montana Golds from Mannyusa.com Thanks, Eric
