Airsoft Guns - what do you have?

This thread is meant to be a catch-all to show your gear, modifications, and any info you'd like to share about them.

Here's my stuff. Nothing fancy, very few mods, just things that work.

My first gun is a KJ Works (KJW) Para 14.45. I picked this up used on eBay ($120)(came with 4 mags).

The propane adapter was $15 (TAG Propane Adapter & 1oz Silicone Oil http://www.airsplat.com/Itemdesc.asp?ic=GG...amp;eq=&Tp= )

My timer is a CED 4000 (no longer made).

Next up, I purchased a Tokyo Marui Hi Capa 5.1.

To go along with the gun, I have ordered some accessories from http://www.cobraairsoft.com/

MA-HI-CAPA5.1-TM Tokyo Marui 31 Rds Magazine for HI-CAPA 5.1 USD$27.00

PSL-ML-5.1-PROUD Proud Magazine Lip for Marui / WE Hi-Capa 5.1/4.3 USD$9.80

MSL-KA-SPR-04 King Arms 150% Recoil & Hammer Spring set for Marui Hicapa 5.1 USD$6.00

Shipping charges (for 7-10 air to US) amounts to about 22% of the total price of the order.

Here's my TM 5.1 Hi Capa, with it's first modification.

I rounded the trigger-guard for two reasons:

- So it could fit my holster

- Because that's the way it's supposed to look.

New to Airsoft for practice but loving it so far. I picked up an (HSC?) G17 clone on Ebay and a G34 (KWA) from Extreme Airsoft here in San Diego a few weeks ago, plus 3 spare mags for each.

Biggest problem is cleaning up the BB's that inevitably bounce off the cardboard on occasion.

The G34 clone stands in for my G35 and the G17 clone for my G22 comp guns. Here's a pic with "real" on top and Airsoft on bottom. I'm using cardboard boxes with taped-on targets and looking forward to using a BAM Airsoft Texas Star and 16ga steel plates (mounted on my own baseplates that are remotely reset using RC model servos) that are on the way now.

The G34 clone fit my Ghost holster fine, the G17 needed some slight filing of the trigger guard. Both mags are a loose fit in my double mag pouches. I'm going to add grip tape to the Airsoft clones to better match the feel and grip of my comp guns.

I only have about 2-3 of these now.

This is probably not what you were looking for. :roflol:

I used to work full time as an airsoft gunsmith at a local indoor CQB skirmish facility so I'm pretty deep into this stuff.

Mike,

Those are some really nice looking builds.

I've always been fascinated by the videos of Japanese Airsoft shooters, the matches they have, the quality of guns they're shooting which seem to make most of what we have look basic indeed, the skill level they've developed with those guns. Given the immense number of rounds they must fire, I can only assume they've upgraded every plastic valve on the gun that could possibly break to a steel part. Given the fact that they apparently have absolutely no problem with dumping mags on concrete during a speedload, I can also only assume they've upgraded the mags to steel floorplates and steel feedlips.

I've always thought it would be fascinating to get my hands on some of the really top-end Japanese Airsoft guns for article purposes. But how to get them? Are there any North American Airsoft companies doing equivalent level work?

Thanks for the compliments guys :)

Duane, in Japan Steel Challenge is the rave (when is comes to airsoft). Click this link for a translated Japanese Steel Challenge http://tinyurl.com/ylfbunj

If you look closely in the rules you will see that metal slides are NOT allowed. Most of the top Japanese Steel Challenge shooters opt for form over function.

Since many understand their limitations, they make the most of what they can....see some of they crazy "open/unlimited" class guns here http://tinyurl.com/ykmlvxp

Now tell me what you think of Japan's airsoft guns :) lol

Anyhow. Most asian countries and regions prefer guns like mine. Hong Kong and Taiwan and the real hot spots for the guns we like.

Both of my main airsoft guns are completely made of cnc'd steel and aluminum, designed by me. My machinist is ProG4 in Hong Kong http://tinyurl.com/yja6adt

There are other's that sell bulk or limited run custom parts. Check here: http://tinyurl.com/yzq5kwz

and check here http://tinyurl.com/yhpbzrl

Most of these shooters are only interested in STI/SVI 2011, 1911, and Glock style handguns. The operating systems are the only things that really separate them (Tokyo Marui; Western Arms; KSC). So most of the upgraded guns your will see with be in these formats. There are some others, but not as widely used/upgraded.

Here's a couple more links for pics of more guns like mine :)

So if you a serious airsoft gun (gonna cost you between $1-2k) contact one of those sites I listed...or you can go through me.

These are ready out of the box Western Arms SV Infinity gas blow back pistols. The Infinity with the Schuemann comp is the cheapest way (in my opinion) to an open pistol. The Infinity Expert is my Limited pistol. Both have the stock ABS slides and run on duster gas. I use the Falcon duster gas that you can purchase at any office supply store or Costco.

"Built" is there a source for components? I would like to know details on where to obtain a long wide dustcover airsoft version of my STI. However, I think I want it to run on Propane and be gas blow back. Is that something you can build or get "components" for?

Thanks!

I've been into airsoft for the past 2 years.

There are a lot of places to buy components. But only a few to get nice custom parts (which are in Hong Kong).

If you are really interested in putting together a custom gun, you need to prepared to spend some loot.

PM me if you want more info.
