STIGUY
I was thinking of getting a CMMG .22 conversion for my AR. The cost range from $160 - $200 and includes one magazine. Just wanted to know anyone's thoughts on this item. I have a 10/22 that I was thinking of converting to a trainer via Nordic, but the controls are different and to make the weight similiar, I would need a new barrel etc... to make it even somewhat realistic weight wise. THANKS!
P.E. Kelley
I have several myself and have turned several other shooters onto them. Reports are that they work very well, so well, that the comps will get full of crud before the conversion gets dirty and malfunctions. Accuracy is plenty good for most practical rifle practice including plate racks at 80+ yards. Use high speed copper plated ammo and have fun! Be sure to pick up a couple of extra mags 'cause you won't wanna quit! Patrick
GentlemanJim
I have two of them...so far both run quite well I remove the comp when I use them...It fills up with lead real quick Jim
Aircooled6racer
Hello: Thanks for the info on the conversion. I have a military conversion that I have not tried yet but will use Jim's info when I do. I do need to get more mags for it though so I can shoot some steel challenge type stuff Thanks, Eric
Doug H.
I won one of these at the FN USA match at the CMMG range. The conversion works great with CCI mini mags. I ordered 5 more mags through CMMG and they are very reasonable. A little hard to get the last few rounds in the mags (25 round total) but the thing just keeps on shooting. I've put about 600 rounds through and have not cleaned it yet. Really fun to just wack the plate rack. I would recommend this to anybody. Doug Edeted bekus I kent spel. ERIC
Spike's Tactical also makes a nice conversion in the same price range and it is nickel coated to make cleaning easier. That's what I'm using on my dedicated 22lr AR and it works great.
