Moving

Chronological order:

1. loading the big old honkin' penske van.

2. leaviing on saturday, driving 8.5+ hours in a van that is so lound inside the cab you can barely talk. the vibration of the side view mirrors, you can't tell what kind of car is trying to pass you. (this made a time killer, however.) let's not talk about hitting a small bump in the road.

3. painting, cleaning, and fixin' up the apartment. i mean a lot of painting and a lot of cleaning.

4. sleeping on a air matress.

5. unloading the big old honkin' penske van. btw, we couldn't unload the van until our "appointment time" on monday 4-6 pm. we cheated and unloaded a bunch of "personal items". the apartment is on the 12th floor and there is no easy way to get back and forth from the van.

6. getting a $60.00 parking ticket in my son's honda. "no parking zone 7-9am" wtf. good luck collecting on that bad boy. the car is back in tennessee now.

7. paying $28.00 a day to park.

8. this was good, returning the big old honkin' penske van back to penske.

9. driving 8 hours back to memphis.

10. arriving home open the front door to be hit in the face will a big wall of heat. both of the A.C. units are not working.

11. finding a dead cat in my yard. yuck

LJ watch out for those unpaid parking tickets!

They have a strange new thing called computers?

They will suspend the plates/license of the person

its registered to and then some day somewhere

intime showes up and it off to the 6x5 cell

for ya- or tow the MV if the operator is not the one

its registered to. Like some day someone will speed

or have that tail/plate light out on that MV and---

Well the rest is up the that person in the Vader

outfit on the other side of the bench!

Having helped a friend move from TN to Chicago all I can say is I feel your pain.

update:

the upstairs unit works now. the downstairs units compressor went bad and tripped both circuit breakers. the upstairs unit is doing a good job cooling the whole house, with extra fans. the good news is that the compressor is still under warranty. yeah!
