Jake Di Vita
Well folks after 6 months without shooting or dry-firing, I'm back. Went out and practiced for the first time today. Decided to do a few loads. First three in a row, all sub-second (to an A at 10 yds). I'm pretty happy to say the least.
Garfield
Hmm, maybe I should consider stopping shooting for 6 months as well to see if I can do sub-second A's then
shred
Got my 'A' card at the first match I shot (a classifier match) after a nine-month total shooting layoff. There may be something to that 'no-expectations' stuff
Jake Di Vita
Strange how that works isn't it?
Ron Ankeny
Didn't know you laid off. What gives?
Jake Di Vita
(I'll guess you're talking to me). Just being busy, had my knee reconstructed at the end of July after I blew it out the first week of June....2 month wait for surgery kinda sucked, was on crutches the entire time. Also was just getting kind of burnt out...Not anymore though.
tightloop
Stalion You are pretty young to have that kind of surgery, what did you do to blow out the knee. Hopefully, not at the range during a match. Better now? Mobility 100% yet?
Jake Di Vita
I blew my ACL a few years ago playing football, but it wasn't bad enough for me to need to fix it. Then I tore my miniscus (cartilage inside the knee) working in June, because of that I couldn't put any pressure on it at all for almost 2 months. Yeah actually it's doing a lot better, mobility is back 100%, strength is getting there. Still need to take it easy, but I'll be good to go by the end of the year. Thanks for asking. SiG Lady
Hey, welcome back! Jeez, I know the feeling: Four knee surgeries and one dislocation. One hip replacement, one on the way for probably next year. I know the feeling. Crutches are a drag. Can't carry the gun case very well. Love ya! Keep us posted!!! mcoliver
Wow, 6 months of no shooting. That should give you enough time to save up on a new belt eh.
