open17
Series 70 Colt 9mm full size. Wilson ETM mags. Round 1 thru 9 eject 4 ft right, 2 ft to the rear. Not a nice little pile but within a foot or so. The last round comes pretty much straight back. Usually goes over the right shoulder, but had a couple yesterday that hit the wife in the face. She doesn't like that! Only a matter of time before she bounces one down the front of her shirt--- The obvious difference is that on the last round there isn't a round in the magazine to support the empty. What to adjust? Gun runs 100%. More extractor tension? Longer or different tip angle on the ejector? Bill
Davidp1911
Try carefully beveling your ejector a little at a time until you get the desired angle of ejection.
wide45
Weak extractor. Unlikely there is any problem with the ejector.
Joe4d
replace or tune your extractor,
Gregory_k
Can the last round be hitting the magazine feedlips?
gino_aki
If extractor tension is ok (will hold a loaded round to the breech face, slide off the gun) try a lighter recoil spring.
open17
Thanks all--I think I see what it's doing! Not ejector. Good extractor tension, but a little bit much fore-and-aft clearance behind the hook. Round 1-9 empties are getting pushed a little bit nose up by the round below just as the empty hits the ejector. The last empty doesn't get pushed up, and hits the ejector level or a tiny bit nose down. Just enough to flip it out low and straight back. I've got an extra 9mm extractor---I'll mess with it after this weekends match. I'll just tell the wife "don't shoot to slide lock"
