XRe
I wish that were the case. I would have gladly bailed halfway through day 2 if I had a way to do so, but I didn't bail until I got back to the hotel, so everything but stages 12-15 applies. I think I'm going to handily have last place locked up even without those four stages. I'm back in Louisville, somebody tell me where to mail the checks. Ouch... Ok, I'll get the totals together tomorrow... Next time, we'll make sure everyone has cell phone contact info, as well - I'd rather not post it in the clear on the forum, but I can PM it around... shred
Another suggestion I had was to pay back more places if the pot gets big enough.. say over $200, pay 2nd 2x their 'entry' and 3rd gets their entry back. I think bailing should only be allowed at the end of a day, with that entire day to count.. or 2x to bail anytime. An out-of-pocket maximum might also be good in case somebody's scope breaks or something.
Charles Bond
It would save a ton of headaches if everyone just put $20 in the pot up front. Limiting the exposure would also likely attract more shooters so as to increase the pot. At the end of the match you total results and pay the winner. No one has to opt out. No money to collect. Thanks to everyone who worked to make this game happen. It added additional fun to the Nationals and I feel better about losing my money to fellow shooters than the local indian casino. Matt Griffin
Congrats to the winners. It was a cool game and I just missed the pot in both matches with D's on the last or second to last stages of each match. Didn't think about it while shooting but definitely heard the D's louder as the RO's called them out with the game in the back of my head.On a rules note, there needs to be a change for the next match. I don't know where some of these folks learned about gambling but you don't change your mind when your team is losing at halftime. Either we only let people in whose word is good or there is a triple your current total opt out fee or something. It probably cost Jamie $80 or more. I for one know plenty about gambling, and I know about reading the rules. The opt out was proffered by the organizers, and we took advantage of it. I don't recall anyone clamoring for it to be enstated after the fact, which would be the type of questionable behavior you're suggesting. If you want to run the side game next year and choose to not have an opt out, I'll still play. And lose. H.

Fireant
By the time I thought about it at the awards I was on the way back to the motel. I was still shocked that there was good stuff on the prize table when it got down to me. I was not even aware there was a prize table until the awards. I'll drop mine in the mail in the morning.
