TDean
What's the deal with the lower hex screws on STI's frame? They don't seem to be threaded to anything but the plastic part of the grip! After realizing the right upper one was loose, I tightened all of them. The lower ones just keep spinning. Is there frame steel somewhere around the lower screws, or are these just cosmetic? eerw
I think they are just cosmetic..just screw into the plastic...
Loves2Shoot
TDean, You sure you don't have a screw loose? (I couldn't resist)
Larry White
They just make them look like the gun has grips on it. If they are loose and you care super glue works good. Larry
TDean
I'll be the first to admit I've got a couple screws loose.... So let me get this straight......cosmetic?....COSMETIC!!!? Thanks guys.
Skywalker
As eerw stated, they are just cosmetic (sort of resembling ole 1911 grips). This is why SVI dispensed with them (they only have upper screws for attaching the grip to the receiver).
Kevin Kline
Comestic only. The upper steel frame is only about 1/8-1/4 down from the top of the rails. The lower screws are for looks only. But, everything I own is covered in skateboard tape anyway, so no body ever sees that. Hell, even my cell phone is covered in skateboard tape!!!!!!! I love the stuff.
