Trooper Class Gear

I did a search and there hasn't been a thread on this in a while.

What is everyone using for Trooper Class?

Interested in Vests, backpacks, holsters, mag pouches, etc.. I would like to know what brands you all use.

Also, are there any Molle mag pouches for 140mm S_I mags?

FB3G Trooper Class (the only match in which I have shot trooper class so far) is set up in such a way that you need to be able to carry all your gear from stage to stage in one trip, without resupply during the match, but do not have to carry all said gear while actually shooting the stage. Once you reach the stage, you may ground all your gear and then carry only that which you need while actually shooting the stage.

I wore my normal 3G belt, changing out belt mounted accs for the stage in question, and (between stages) carried all my equipment, ammo, both long guns, a spare handgun, etc. with relative ease using an Eberlestock Phantom pack with side scabbard and two external molle pouches. Once it is on your back, it's a breeze to walk around with. Lifting and mounting it on your back gets easier and easier with each subsequent stage completed and ammo fired.......hope you get the high round count stages first!

I called Eberlestock to order one morning leading up to the FB3G (he's in Idaho, remember time zones!) and Mr. Eberlestock (Glen Eberle) answered the phone himself. We discussed what model would be best for my needs, and the order was placed 25 minutes later.. Awesome guy with great experiences and history. Check out eberlestock.com.

I live out of and with a backpack as a constant companion 4-5 months a year, in pretty remote places (http://www.nationalgeographic.com/field/explorers/luke-dollar.html). In nearly 15 years of using packs professionally, the Eberlestocks are as good if not better than any I've ever encountered for field use. Starting this year, the Eberlestock Phantom (in any of many forms of accessorization) will be my primary pack both on the 3G range and in the field.

Give these products a long, serious look.

WAAHOOO!!! The Ironman discussions are beginning!!! 3gun season is upon us!!! +1 for the Eberlestock packs. I borrowed a Phantom last year and it was great. When you got it on, it only felt like you had about 60lbs on your back :D . As far as the gear that I wore while I was actually shooting, I had a 3gun Gear shot shell Chest carrier, two 3gun Gear arm bands, and 10 rounds on my gun. Can you guess who made the carriers on the gun? Thats right ...3gun Gear. My standard belt, holsters and four pistol mag pouches. For my rifle gear, I had two sets of 30 round mags cinched together. Got the Beta mag for next year though!!! Hope this helped.

I don't know if you'd call it hibernation or not! I have been working my butt off since September! Glad to be back at the house for a littl while though. Oh wait...I am leaving for the SHOT show in a week. Oh well!!! Being home was nice while it lasted!

For smaller round count matches with Trooper Class I use a Spec Ops Brand the Pack. For Ironman I use the Kifaru EMR.

I use the Cavalry Arms double long gun case with shoulder strap to carry both my guns.

The vest I use is a custom Rig by Coyote Tactical. The back piece is a modified camelback carrier, and I have multiple front panels for different weapons systems. I typically use the Saiga-12 front pannel for 3 Gun matches.

I use a SOB battle belt with Diamondback Tactical Suspenders for comfort, and duty belt keepers to tie it into my pants belt. On the belt itself I have a dump pouch large enough to accomodate all my mag types, a drop down leg rig with AR and Glock mag pouches, and I normally use a Safariland 6004 holster inside a SOB Vapor Holster Chasis.

I don't understand the complex rules, can I run my Saiga 12 in Trooper Class? I have no probem carrying all my ammo and weapons. I like to have sufficient magazines that I don't have to stuff mags and get ready.

I would use a South Afracan Viper tactical vest with a built in cammel back also I would use a drop leg holster. Plenty of room for AGP Saiga mags along with AR or AK mags and pistol mags. Depending on what gun I am running that day.

There are absolutely no restrictions on what you can use in Trooper Class!

Firearms

1. Trooper Class shooters may use firearms from any of the other specified classes. A Trooper class shooter may use all iron-sighted guns, or open class guns, however they must be able to transport any firearms (and spares) without assistance from stage to stage by themselves.

2. There is no limit on magazine capacity, bipods, scopes, etc in Trooper Class.

Looks from the pics like you've got a little extra room in that Kifaru EMR ;) Go ahead and fill her up!
