MBaban
Are CR Speed type holsters allowed in L10? newbie
ErikW
Yes. Everything allowed in Limited is legal for Limited 10, except the 11th and later rounds in a magazine.
B.J. Norris
You can however, strip a round off from a mag, then put a new mag in, thus ending up 11 rounds in the gun. All L10 is just Limited, without the hi-caps.
Loves2Shoot
You can even put 11 rounds in the first mag if you strip the 1st one when you Load and Make Ready
ErikW
Not if John Amidon or his evil minions are officiating.
Loves2Shoot
um, if you load 11 and strip 1, there are only 10 rounds loaded in the magazine. The rule reads that only 10 rounds may be loaded in the magazine. so if you load 10, strip 1 the RO (even Amidon himself) can ask to see the mag and only 10 rounds are in the mag so it should be permited per the rule. markm
This was covered at a RO school recently. Picky, but having 11 rounds in the mag., inserting it in the gun is a violation, per Amidon. You can never have 11 rounds in a mag. ever, never, ever!!!! BS I know, but that is there thinking.
MBaban
So, loading a 10 round mag, loading one, tak the mag out and top off to 10is okay?
Run n Gun
Not “topping off”, you take ANOTHER mag and insert it and strip the first round, then take THAT mag out and insert a fully loaded one giving you 11. Most guys put the mag that now has 9 in it in their back pocket so they don’t inadvertently reload with it during the stage. Ed
Flexmoney
...or they top off. The rule is...10 rounds in the mag. One in the pipe is fine (10+1). If you do decide to simply top off your feeder mag...make sure to do it with the loaded gun on safe AND in the holster. (We had a new shooter that wanted to tuck his blaster under his arm-pit while he topped off his mag... ) I am a big fan of doing it the way R-n-G suggests. Vince Pinto
Folks, The best way to get your mind around the USPSA L10 "10 round rule" is to think: "A maximum of 10 rounds in all magazines at all times". Remember the above and you'll never get spanked. Well, at least not for a mag infringement
ErikW
Ditto for USPSA Production. And that would be "all times" except club matches where we have better things to do than slow down the match for no good reason.
