Scout454
I have both and both shoot 1 moa out to 1K. just put a new 3-18 IOR on the gas gun. Nice. Monopod will not work on the Steyr. Thinking about selling it and getting something different. 168's, 175's or 180's?
mjbine
First things first, I just saw that bipod from sinclair and man is that thing awesome. I might be get one soon. Well I have been shooting my 243AI with 115 DTACs but when I use my 7mm mag I use 175smk. Both bullets perform very well 600+ yards. Next purchase 6.5X284 or 338 Edge
Scout454
.338 Edge. Then you can REALLY reach out and touch something. I've shot 175 SMK's to 1135 yards on a 16" gong in a 1 in 10 twist barrel. The gas gun is a 1 in 11.25 and it prefers 168's. .338 Edge or .338 Lapua?
mjbine
I like the Edge. 250 SMK or 300 SMK
Scout454
From what I've been told, the 250's work better in the Edge and the 300's in the Lapua. I expect you'll have to try both and make a command decision! Clean guns or goof off for the rest of the afternoon?

Two pistols clean, three rifles and one shotgun to go. Finish them today or wait until Thursday?

Scout454
One rifle is clean. The rest will wait. I use a brush - generally a worn brush with a patch wrapped around it - and a little JP when they're really dirty. Otherwise it's Shooters Choice and Kroil 50/50 Copper solvent or not?
