skeeter
long story short got to the area 5 and all my ammo was to long for my glock mags. had to beg borrow and buy enough to get through the match. great fun!!
sfinney
Ouch. There was a guy at Area 4 who had to borrow ammo for his Glock .40, the stuff he loaded for the match wouldn't cycle his gun, I think it chrono'ed at @ 110 PF.
Rich Bagoly
They still talk about some poor guy who was trying to shorten the length of his rounds between stages at one of the Smith & Wesson Invitationals.
Chriss Grube
You mean a glock that wouldn't work? Wow better call Gaston himself. I thought those things always worked, right Flex?
Nik Habicht
Chriss, Glocks always work! Even when I had to manually cycle the slide for every shot when I grabbed the wrong PF ammo for my open G19. That was a fun steel match, let me tell you...... The side benefit is that I'm now adept at clearing that particular malfunction; of course it hasn't reoccurred but I feel better knowing that I'm ready..... skeeter
chriss, not the guns fault that i can't load ammo right. this gun never jams with ammo that meet specs. it turns out that my bullet seating die work itself loose, goes to show nothing stays the same, i hadn't touch that die in a year maybe more. Chriss Grube
You just learned lesson # 1, check everything. Most guns work great as long as you feed it good ammo, use good mags and stay away from the home gunsmithing. The only problems I've had is when I screwed up reloading. skeeter
screwed up on the reloads, i've said that a bunch, think it's time to start shooting 9mm so i can get cheap factory ammo?
BSeevers
I think the key is checking everything twice. I have loaded hundreds of thousands of rounds and recently had an ammo problem. Should have caught it before the match.
Lumpy
I remember waaaay waaaay back when I first started shooting. I was using a Colt Delta Elite 10mm and my rounds were to long and kept catching in the mag. It's amazing what you can do with a hammer and a pool table. Instant re-sizing. :-) It worked for the match and got me through. Oh the days!
