Anyone have a source / link for 12 gauge shorty shells? I saw Dillon had them at one time but are now discontinued. Also looking for 00 buck in a clear hull. Friend had some but I can't remember brand. Anyone?

Living in Canada the sport is not well known, but mentioning that you compete with law enforcment, docters, lawyers seems to ease their feelings towards it.

Hi Flexmoney, I think people just haven't shared their results with the 200gr. Yes, I saw the 2 loads, and they were quite far apart for dimensions so I asked here again so I can get a better idea of a starting point. I'll give it a whirl. I've got lots of 180's and 5000 200gr's kicking about. Thanks

Hi Guy/Gals, I did a forum search and couldn't find the info I was looking for. I'm switching from N340 to N320 for 180 & 200gr loads in .40S&W. There was a link to a IPSC shooters database for loads, but I was unable to find it in my search. I'm looking for a starting load for 200gr with VV N320 and heck if you have a starting load for 180gr with VV N320 that would be great. OAL would be greatly appreciated as well. Not trying to thread jack. I fall within the Tightening Fingers / Jerking/Slapping Trigger" area. My problem is this only occurs in the AM of my shooting day. Around Noon or so I'm bang on for accuracy??? Can anyone explain this one? Am I more relaxed? More awake?

Some helpful snippets from the British Columbia (Canada) WCB (Workers Compensation Board) booklet on "Lead - Preventing Exposure at work". "Family members of lead workers, particularily children and pregnant women, are at risk of lead exposure if lead dust is taken home on clothes, on footwear, on the skin, or in the hair." "Adverse effects may also occur to a developing fetus (such as low birth weight and developmental delays) when the mother is exposed to even fairly low levels of lead. If a woman has been exposed to a significant amount of lead before pregnancy, then during pregnancy, lead may come out the body tissues where it is stored and it may enter the blood and the fetus. Lead is also excreted in breast milk." Hope this helps, actually it reminds me to tell one of our newly married shooters wife (who is pregnant) about lead exposure.

Custom plugs are good BUT most can only offer a NRR rating of up to 23-26ish. (Noise Reduction Rating) I'm sorry to disagree but most muffs can offer up to 29 NRR, and some disposable plugs go up to 33 NRR. Most guns run up to 140db. You can be exposed to 85db for up to 8 hours unprotected, and 105db for 1 hour. Yes, certain eyewear can affect the seal but it's still minimal. The best solution is to double up. I use custom plugs with a 29 NRR regular muff over top. When I'm shooting I wear both, when I'm behind the line I just remove the muffs and leave the customs in. Only in rare occasions do I ONLY wear the custom plugs by themselves. Electronic muffs are good, but I find most end up turning them off when they go to shot which defeats the purpose. It depends on the technology of the muff. The older versions used to cut in / out when a shot rang out. If your the shooter this can be annoying or a distraction. The newer technology is sound compression. When a shot rings out the input sound coming in is compressed and reduced to an acceptable level and does not cut in or out but just sounds "softer". Quite nice but does take some getting used to. Plenty of options out there. Personally the electronics are nice but not worth the money. I have had the same muffs for 7 years, and get custome plugs made each year.

HTR, Undersized dies are a sizing/de-capping die that has been "shaved" on the bottom to allow the casings to be sized to the very bottom. Many shooters who get brass that have been shot through un-supported barrels (Glock) need to remove this bulge so it will function better in their firearm. It is a "regular" die that you can use in your 650. I currently use the EGW sizing die (Lee Die Custom Ground) and the rest is all Dillon dies. I used to have 10% out of 1000 rounds fail to chamber check. Now with the EGW die I get maybe 1% out of 1000. A case pro is a expensive machine that takes brass and rolls them through special dies and returns then to SAAMI spec. It removes the bulge in the process. A nice machine if you got the cash. The EGW die cost $20 US...

Good Day All, I have some Glock mags I wish to put up for sale. I know there is different "Versions" of the mags. So I'd like to identify them before posting for sale. I tried looking up the info on GT but no luck. Can someone help? Also I'm looking for ball park prices they are going for. I have Hi Cap's for G17 / G19 / G22 / G23's I'll post For Sale here first.

are we talking the pump style "Imperator"? If so, I had a chance to try one at the local range. Nice to shoot and take down BUT it did have a jamming problem, or to be more exact a feeding problem that locked the entire thing up.

My STI and Mac 11 are KSC, Glock is KJ Works, MP5 is Tokyo Mauri. Airsoft can be just as expesinve as real guns. It's basically a paintball substitute with a twist. MilSim as most call it.

I used the Safariland inner / outer. Works fine. I did find out the hard way not to let the Safariland belt freeze, and mine cracked when I went to use. :-( I no longer keep it in the igloo. Damn Canadian weather! Now I have a Ernie Hill Leather inner outer belt system which I find is a little more stiffer and give a good sturdy feeling.

This is one of those things you do once and once only. I had a buddy pick up my mags at a match, he put one into my belt. You guessed it, I went to reload on the next stage with an empty mag. Now I take all mags out and load them before they even get near my belt. Oh and my buddy got a smack on the back of the head. :-)

Gatorade and energy bars help. Like everyone else says, lot's of fluids. I pace myself on the taping and picking brass. Alternate with your fellow shooters as not to burn yourselves out. Lumpy P.S. Going to Nationals? Look for the big Albertan with "Lumpy" tattoo'd on his leg. :-)

mcoliver, Do some reading on "Duster Gas". It's basically the same as HFC134A but without the silicone additive. You can buy it pretty cheap, just make sure to add some silicone to it as not to dry out your seals. It is the same power as most "Gases" out there, just need to add the silicone. I've got a Glock 27, Mac 11, STI Edge and a electric MP5SD6. :-) (Edited by Lumpy at 11:23 pm on July 1, 2002)

What's the rule of thumb. Lead vs Jacketed. Lead less friction = Less powder? Jackected more friction = More powder? Am I right or wrong?

My only point is if your not shooting BE QUIET.... Let the person in the box focus on the task at hand, we don't need 20 loud people behind yattering when someones trying to shoot. Be consideraate and shut the hell up... :-)
