Steve Anderson
Born with a loss, had a meningitis coma in infancy that killed some more, spent 10 years with a stratocaster in front of a Marshall half-stack, then my first two years of shooting was indoors. HUH? I hate taking off the e-muffs after shooting, can hear so well with them. I like running plugs under the muffs cranked up. Can still hear OK, but double protection while shooting. Maybe we'll have some medical miracles in our lifetimes. SA
Chris
Todd doesn't hear too good at all. Every time I talk to him its "HUH!". Darn open guns are loud even with hearing protection!
joshua
WOW! I can actually hear a bit of 8 khz again. I use to do stupid things back in high school such as put head phones on (the cupped over ear ones), insert AC/DC Back in Black in the boom box and let her rip at #8 setting (only because 9 or 10 is distorted). Then shooting and hunting without earplugs. I'm amazed that I can actually hear 8khz in my left ear and most of the time in my right. Maybe it will all come back as time goes by. josh
Shooter Grrl
I think they're pulling our leg - I couldn't hear any of the last 3 tones....
ErikW
Yeah I couldn't hear 3, 4 or 8 the first time either. That's when I followed the instructions and had the test volume barely audible. Next time, starting at a hint more than the audible/inaudible threshold, I was fine.
shred
Also if you have crappy PC speakers, they may not be able to generate a reasonable quantity of 8KHz, no matter how good your ears are.
