ATMester
I decided to shoot these drills with a stock 1911 .45 (stock weight springs, internals etc) with factory hardball ammo 187+ PF. Definately not a sissy load. My "bedside gun" got a little workout. So when you looking at the times keep these things in mind. Vice P. 10 yards, spaced 1 yard apart draw .99 reload 1.58 (I know I was slow and I dropped the gun too) time 4.86 I did slow down but still made a nice hit on the wood stick...well working on perfection. Bill Drill 1.88 sec with .95 draw Edited November 14, 2006 by TheHun
tightloop
Was your Bill Drill all A hits?
zhunter
Those are some super fast splits on the Bill Drill, especially with factory ammo. I figure it to be 0.93 seconds for the last 5 shouts, which equates to 0.186 second splits. Maybe my math is not right, but that is fast, and if you got all A's, the you are my hero with that equipment
tightloop
Zman TGO did it in 1.37 with factory ball ammo...figure those splits figuring a 1.0 sec draw..LOL
zhunter
ZmanTGO did it in 1.37 with factory ball ammo...figure those splits figuring a 1.0 sec draw..LOL That would equate to..... Drum roll please..... 0.074 Splits And that folks if why he is known as TGO
Flexmoney
TGO isn't running 0.08 splits. Figure in a much faster draw.
zhunter
Flex, I only do as I am told OK, here goes: OK, so with a 0.70 draw That equates to....... Drum roll again..... 0.134 Splits Certainly doable for TGO!!! How is that Flex?
ATMester
It don't take much effort to shoot a Bill Drill under 2 sec. What really hard with factory mule kicking ball ammo is to keep them in the A. I make it sometimes... Edited November 14, 2006 by TheHun
ParaJoe
I thought the point of Bill Drills was to get all of the shots in the A zone? Joe
tightloop
Uhhhh, yeah...
ATMester
I never stated that the Bill drill was not all A's. I said that with hard kicking ammo /no race gun the hard part is to keep them in the A for me. Others may be different. My sarcastic style worked against me...I guess. tightloop
Not necessarily, I just assumed that when you said you get all A's sometimes, the drill in question might have not been all A hits...sorry if I got it wrong...
ParaJoe
I was confused for a minute there. Sorry about that. Joe
