Keith, the casino is actually pretty decent, with nice dealers and a friendly crowd. Just watch out if you decide to get in a Texas-Holdem cash game, because 2-7 offsuit is known all around the state as the "Osceola Big Slick."

Mike, I got 2 more verbal agreements to come and shoot both matches. Those are binding in Iowa court, right???

Absolutely. Let me know if there's a problem so I can get them served with the papers.

I'm entered and unless Gas doubles, I should even be there! Couldn't swing both days though, I'll stick with the Revo.

I'm sure Mike's just waiting until after the Nationals to heavily promote this thing. He'll probably bring 80% of the Nationals group home with him to the compound. :D

Entries are coming in. So far Revo is still ahead of Single-Stack, but only slightly.....

The stages have received general approval from NROI. We are fine-tuning a few things at their recommendation and should have stage diagrams published within the next few weeks.

Everything is looking great! Send your entry in if you haven't already!

OK, the stages are posted and available for viewing!

Go to the OOPS website: http://www.ioweb.com/oops/

Click the link to the match information page, and there's a link at the bottom that will pull up all the stages.

10 stages, including classifer 06-03. 192 rounds minimum.

As with any match, the stages are subject to minor change without notice.

We will be shooting the same stages for both matches (I didn't think we'd get this approved but USPSA said it's OK since the two divisions are different enough). But remember, these are two separate matches--1911 on Saturday, Revolver on Sunday.

Yes, there are other places to shoot that weekend. But you will not get more shooting or more fun for your money anywhere else in the country, I'll promise you that!

Don't wait too long to get your entries in.

C'mon guys let's fill this up with Revoleros!

I should be hauling up to 3 extra NEW competitors from Kansas.

Iowa at that time of year is BEAUUUUTIFUL! The "Woods" courses are usually real fun, that old bridge does jump a bit, but it holds up!

If we can fill this up with 50+ Revolero's it will really jump start the Division. And give everyone all winter to get psyched up.

The entry is far cheaper than the Nationals, it's only 1 day and the range is good. While I know we all would "LOVE" to shoot the Nationals, it's just too expensive/time consuming for most of us. This is your chance to see how you stack up against some really fine Revolero's.

Hope to see you all there!

Dave

P.S. Mike, WalterMitty, et.al. work on some of the hot dogs at the nationals. Maybe even JM, he is such a "VISIBLE" mark of the Revolver that he could be a great draw.

Brett, it's there! Click the link at the top to view the match info, then scroll down for another link to the stage designs.

OOPS website: http://www.ioweb.com/oops/

A couple stages have been changed very slightly to conform with NROI's requirements. It will add slightly to the round count (which is right around 200 rounds minimum). The match is now approved and fully sanctioned by USPSA. We are on the radar!

Guys, I'm excited about this one. Also a little apprehensive, as it is my first effort at helping build and organize a big match! The best thing you can do to help me out is SIGN UP if you haven't already done so already! :) I would love it if the Revolver entries out-number the Single-Stack entries. Right now it's just about dead even.

We're finalizing the plaque order this Sunday, so if you haven't sent in your entry but you know you're shooting the match(es) for sure, PM or email me right away so I can include you in the count. Plaques will be based on the number of entries received as of 7 a.m. Sunday. Please don't wait until the last minute. (But even if you do, we'll do our best to take ya!)

We will have wheelgunners from across the spectrum, in terms of experience and skill, ranging from guys shooting their very first match with a revolver (I am lending two sets of equipment to two friends who've been wanting to try revo), to several master-class shooters. I'm fairly certain at least one GM will be in attendance as well! ;)

Mike don't sweat it. I'm sure you and the guys up there will do a bang up job.

I'll help with whatever you need on Sunday.

I'm trying to get 2 (1 I would loan equipment to also) newbie Revo's to come up with me. Will try to find out Saturday.

I'm with you I'd love to see the Revo's = SS!

Pretty cool news.......I have coaxed one of the original masters of the wheel back to the game in order to participate in this match with us! I'm keeping his identity secret for now, but I know this guy well and I'll guarantee that he will do what it takes to get tuned up over the next month and be a factor.

This is gonna be great!

To help out those who are driving in the morning of the match, we have decided to start shooting each morning at 9:00 AM. Shooters should be at the range no later than 8:30 AM for a brief shooters meeting.

We have more than 20 revolvers on board with a month to go! I'd love to see it hit 30 or 40!

Not too late to sign up.

I'll be there Mike. Had too much stuff pop up this week for me to get to Little Rock for the IDPA Nationals so now I'll have a little extra time and cash to come that way.

Cool--their loss is our gain!! It will be great to have "the other Jerry M." shoot with us! :)

Will you be shooting a 1911 on Saturday also?? (BTW, if anybody needs to borrow a single-stack gun or other gear, drop me a line....) Anyway, send your entry form up to Brad and we'll get you on the list.

I haven't looked at the list of entrants in the last 10 days or so, but I'm hoping that we're pushing the 30 shooter mark by now for Revo. We have a GM and a bunch of Ms on board, including one excellent wheelgunner coming back from semi-retirement just to shoot this match (and I fully expect him to be quite competitive)! You guys will also see a couple familiar names that you don't ordinarily associate with revolver--be sure you don't take them too lightly!

I am lending both my 625s out to shooting friends who are experienced IPSC competitors, but have never shot a match with a wheel--that should be fun to watch! I am also very pleased to note that we have several revolver shooters who have joined USPSA because of this match! Dave, let's be sure to mention this in the Front Sight article, OK?

I will be shooting on Friday, but Sam is planning to shoot Sunday with you guys. Perhaps Cliff can re-open the negotiations on the prospective "frame for hair" trade deal he initiated with Sam at Nationals......

Yes, I'll be shooting both days. I'm trying to talk a couple other guys from St Louis into coming up with me. Most of them shoot bottom feeders, only a couple know the true zen of shooting a round gun.

Mike, Just sent in the App. Sure hope I can find the place, you know once I leave the farm I don't know whar nuffin is. Just shooting the Revo match. Gonna try to stay at the Super 8 since there is no motel "6" :P in the area. Thanx for putting this on. rdd

Bubber it's not hard to find. And it's so close to Osceola I can't believe they don't get complaints. Basically it's go South at the Bank, over the Bridge and take a Left at the Brush Pile Dump, unless someone got ambitious and set it on fire.

I'll be going thru there about 1/2 hour before the shooters meeting (driving up that morning from Kansas) unless I fall asleep and miss the turnoff. PM me if you need someone to follow.

Bringing anyone else? Waltermitty said something about working the Nationals in Tulsa. Can't believe he'd miss a Revo only IPSC match.

Awesome news, Bubber!! I was really hoping you'd be able to make it.

You'll be interested to know there will be at least two other serious wheelgunners who will be shooting 686s......I'm going to make you wait until game day to reveal their identities. (Note, I am not one of them, my reloading style does not work real well with speedloaders, although just for fun I will be shooting my Model 646 with minor loads, as both my 625s are loaned out!)

There will be a lot of talent at this match. And some who will suck out loud! :D

The stages are roughed out, and coming along nicely.

Dave, remember the shooting will start around 9:00 each day. For those shooting Friday, it may be more like 10:00, as we will be hanging targets and doing our final stage de-bugging that morning.

Spread the word. I think the website still says be there at 7:00, but that's not right. If you're there by 8:30 each day, that'll be just fine. Lots of people are driving in from a couple hours away, and we wanted to make it as user-friendly for them as possible. Based on past years, we are pretty efficient at running shooters through the match, and I expect the shooting to be done by mid-afternoon each day.

We will not take a formal break for lunch. Shooters should bring along a sandwich, snacks, drinks, etc. Or you can send somebody to town--McDonalds, Subway, and Casey's are only a couple minutes away.
