HI5-O
I'll be passing through the Chicago Aiport on my way to Tulsa, OK with my open guns in checked luggage. Am I going to run into problems? Have Illinois gun laws are/have changed recently? barry

ChuckS
I have traveled t/f Chi with no issues checking guns. A couple friends flew from there to join me at Area 2. They had no problems with guns either. Edited February 4, 2006 by ChuckS
chuckbradley
Your traveling through so no problem. Something I was told by a chicago prosecuting attorney customer of mine. A local who has an unregistered gun in there car will be charged with a felony. Its only a misdemeanor for an outsider to be caught with a gun in there car. I just travel with my gun in a lockable breifcase. It remains unlocked and accessible until I get pulled over then I roll the tumblers. It is then locked and the consensus is they need a search warrant to get into it. Of course that isnt related to the airport.
HI5-O
Kewl, thanks guys....just passing through Chicago since it is the hub for UAL and just one stop. Otherwise it would have been through LAX or SFO Feel better about my flight arrangements now. Maybe next time I should try to connect through Las Vegas with a stopover Barry
