Vic Posted May 24, 2023 Share Posted May 24, 2023 I traded into a 4" from a buddy who used it as his trapline gun. I think the 4" version is perfect balance in a 22 revolver. Wish I wasn't a gun trading addict, love to have that revolver back. I toted it with predator calling for half a dozen winters. Used it as a finish gun for coyotes or Bobcats that got away with a bad shot, that my dog would bay up. Accurate, quiet and effective, 617s are great revolvers. I had a local gunsmith / machinist in SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA shorten the 6" to 5", slab the sides, and undercut the lug. I think he moved out of state.
