STI mag verification

I bought some new mag tubes. One on left is the one I have been using. It's 9/38 compatible.

 

The new mag on middle and right I bought only has 9mm stamped on the tube body came in that bag in the middle.

At a glance, the 9mm mag looks about the same. Does this mean this tube is actually 9/38?

 

I need my mags to be 38 compatible since I will be shooting that caliber.

Inside dimensions are the same? I thought strictly 9mm mags were sized smaller to eliminate need for spacers in 9/38 tubes?

9/38 tubes don't require any spacers.

I needed them in mine. They were Gen 1 though. If these are Gen 2 thh he en they should work for OP

I don't have my 38sc yet but I loaded 38sc and they seem to fit... It's just really weird that they would mark 9mm when they could have marked 9/38...

I have dozens of their mags, G2 &G3, some say 9 and some say 9/38. Just like some of my 40 mags just say 40 S&W and some say 40/10 but as far as I can tell there all identical.

Pro tip. Atlas tubes for 9mm, and MBX for 38.

I used Atlas for 9mm without any issues, with various projectile profiles. Anecdotal evidence in my part of the world has MBX as flawless in 38SC and occasionally needing minor tweaks for 9mm.
