(My last ever) Western States Revolver Championship

Recommended Posts

OK, I have shot this match multiple times, including this year, and I'm here to tell you--this is a great frickin' match!  Easily one of the best revolver matches of the year.

All this negativity from the armchairs is sort of disappointing.  Obviously, some of you guys would rather bitch than shoot!  😄

I'm a senior shooter, and many of the 70 revolver shooters in attendance were plenty older than me.  We had a great time.  14 top-quality stages at a world-class range, at a match run by experienced people who know how to plan high-level events--what else can you really ask for?

ROs and lunch, like three weeks earlier at the Arizona State Revolver Championship?

:)

Sounds like a match I would enjoy--maybe next year?  (I'm probably not going to be able to fly to AZ twice in the same month, though, so I'm hoping they can spread it out a little from the Western States match, which I will not willingly miss.)

hohohohohohohohohoho.

If I look jewish  can I use kvetcheth?

I have been accused of being many things including jewish.

That one does not bother me.

so far in my life I have not had to pointedly explain I am not french...

and I suspect I will be the only one laughing at that joke.

Ditto!

Can't remember the Yiddish for 'same to you'.

GG

A lot of stuff doesn't translate over well from English to Yiddish, not to mention very few people under the age of 100 still speak it :)

In German it's sometime like, "dir auch"

I may need to get a revolver...

the yiddich I can often follow...

I know you avoid schlamiels  as the easiest way to

avoid schlamozzel-ing

and this competition as described by the pocono style gurus

is not one where you will see me shedding fumbled 38 special rounds

like water off a duck in a hurricane...

I will take the place of the horse

in an old western dead horse fort...

if dead horses wheeze...

I can put holes in paper,   and I aint gunna run after them.

I think I said too much.

Mike you did pretty good, nice job

Thanks Eddie.  I was on the right pace, but had way too many penalties.  That's what happens when you don't pick up a wheelgun for six or eight months and then take one to a major match!

  • 3 weeks later...

I lack subtlety.

some times a sense of whimsy visits.

so If you seed clover in the hopes of attracting a horse

well,  I'll keep you company from curiosity.

from all I have been able to tell, wheelgun matches are rare.
