Stuey
If it has a Red Dot, then you will be CO. If you remove the red dot then you can shoot SSP.
fraizer15
I have a 1989 version of a S&W 625 with a 5" barrel and was told it's illegal in IDPA. Is this the case?
Jim Watson
Some years ago they reduced the maximum barrel length from 5" to 4.25". This got them a lot of ill will for no good reason. Another one of those things that USPSA likes to throw in our face. Oh wait, your sixshooter isn't very competitive there against the 8 shooters, either. fraizer15
Thanks for your response. I guess I will have to get out my hack saw.
Jim Watson
I thought a 5" barrel was an advantage, I had guns sawn off twice, 6 to 5, 5 to 4.

Created a rule book with a big emphasis on stability of equipment rules.. Even promised a grandfather clause for some time if an equipment rule was changed. Immediately changed barrel length rule for revolver with little notice or input... And so started folks and clubs simply ignoring certain rules not renewing and clubs shooting IDPA "Like" matches. Seems to be a lot of that "IDPA-like" match stuff going around. Can't blame 'em.
