Primers using small rifle in lieu of small pistol

Small rifle primers in lieu of small PP.

With no supply of components out there. I have been told small rifle primers can be used but gains 25fps or so with no disadvantage.

 

any thoughts?

 

im using a cz czechmate 9mm with 125g bullet, and 3.7g vitavouri

Someone just posted something on this. they did a good test for failures. Im pretty sure the results were good as long as you stuck to basic no magnum or benchrest

Should be perfectly fine as long as you don’t have a light hammer spring. Lots of open shooters use small rifle even when SPP are plentiful.

I had been using SRP on my Czechmate. 124 Gr JHP and 9.7 Gr of AA7 or SWMP.

Do a search for breach face erosion and understand why it happens. Then watch for it. It doesn’t happen to everyone, but you should be aware of it.

I researched the breach erosion issues. My take on it is that there was a batch of Winchester primers that were inducing the issue of erosion. I would love to hear your thoughts on the breach face erosion issue. Maybe I could call Winchester and have them review the batch numbers of the small rifle primers that I have.
