nikdanja
I reload so tweeking ammo isn’t a big deal. I know shooting hunting 3006 loads is a BIG no no. Want to make a bullet suitable for a 50 yard shot on a white tail deer.
Hi-Power Jack
I used my Springfield 03-A3. Used to load a 30-30 bullet in the 30-06 case with reduced powder load, but still hotter than a 30-30. The soft bullets used to expand Very Rapidly - didn't exit the deer on broadside shots.
caspian guy
Probably if you stay with powders that are the right burn rates for that gas system and bullets with a similar profile and weight to what's supposed to be used you can avoid bending an op rod. Might go check over on the cmp forums for some ideas.

Can hunting loads not be fired in an M1? Thinking of getting one and didn’t realize there were ammo limitations.
