obsessiveshooter
I'm about to get prescription lenses for a pair of Ray-Bans, and I'm not sure if I want to get polarization or or not. I don't shoot guns with dots and I'm not concerned about looking through scopes either. This is really just for everyday wear and shooting pistols. Are there any advantages or disadvantages that apply to the iron sight shooter with a fiber optic front sight? Chrome308
Polarization cuts some glare that bounces off flat surfaces at a ~45 degree angle. Its an interesting effect how light gets polarized in that situation, worth some offline reading sometime. Its nice to have for driving, and foliage can look differently with polarization, but I don’t think its a factor at all for irons.
obsessiveshooter
Well I'm glad you wrote that because polarisation was my only option with polycarbonate lenses. I was concerned that polarization might dim the pop of the red fiber optic front sight.Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk
bdpaz
Polarized lenses can make it difficult to read the timer - I have to rotate the timer display or just look under my glasses.
45 Raven
I haven't had any problem, with polarized lens and fiber optic front sights using my Ray-Ban prescription lens sunglasses.
