Tri-Topped Slide Weight

How much weight does tri-topping a 5" slide take off (one with an adjustable rear/dovetailed front)? 

0.50 oz.? 1.00 oz.? Less?

Removed just over .5oz on my 1911.

Charles, 0.40-0.75ozs. You can also cut under the rear sight and in front of it. The inside can be cut also on the slide. The barrel can be cut down as well. Thanks, Eric

These allowances would be for single stack, right?

Hello: I think it is for a 1911/2011 slide but could also be done to others. No perforations allowed in single stack. Thanks, Eric

Thanks for the info.  It's for a SS primarily used for SCSA.  There's an outside chance it will be used in USPSA, so I don't want to have any slots/thru cuts.

I know this is an old thread but just found it. 

 

You mentioned maybe using it for SS in USPSA and if you do, you can have any internal lightening on the slide like mentioned above under the rear sight or firing pin channel like you can on a limited or open gun.
