robert.a.brewer.
Does a stronger, more durable, slide stop cause more wear to other parts of the gun? Put another way, does the slide stop take the punishment instead of, perhaps, the barrel lug? So then, could a stronger slide stop cause premature barrel breakage? kneelingatlas
EGW makes hardened steel slide stop pins, I imagine a harder pin might make it more likely you break the lower lugs of the barrel, but I've never heard of anyone switching to a harder pin, then breaking a barrel. zzt
The answer is no, unless something is out of whack. A good, hard, billet or bar stock slide stop will last almost forever. It won't wear like MIM parts, so upper lug engagement will not decrease over time.
OrondoShooter
I've never heard of someone switching to a harder slide stop or the pin, and having increased wear on their barrel, frame, or anything else.
yigal
better quality ss pin has tendency to have small bend after many rounds . don't use it after this. as long ss pin is straight it will not make any damage to the gun parts. broken ss during shooting can make damage to the gun. if u use original cz ss change them every 5k. and after few years u will have nice collection .
