ark_fireman
Yesterday was brass processing day, I knocked out about 1000 556 then noticed my trimmer motor was running intermittently... It does still trim brass perfectly but sounds like someone revving a motorcycle. I've attached a video so you can hear it.. Any ideas or suggestions? Thanks, John Video_1 (1).MOV
Chris777
Not sure.. but is sounds like it could be a loose connection that is giving power intermittently to the motor.... I'd give Dillon CS a call in the morning to see what they say.
ams30gts
It sounds like a power issue. Maybe the plug is bad, or something along those lines. Edited October 10, 2016 by ams30gts
dillon
Be sure you are not plugged into a GFI circuit. The power box contains a bridge rectifier, which converts the AC to DC current. On a GFI circuit, this will usually cause the circuit breaker to pop, or at least try very hard to do so.
ark_fireman
ok, thanks for the advice... not plugged into GFI nd all connections seem tight and secure. I'll have to go thru credit card slips to see when I purchased it but i'm pretty sure it was about 15 months ago

Every outlet in my home is on a GFI circuit. I haven't used my RT-1500 a lot, but have noticed that the rpm of it varies quite a bit. Have yet to trip a breaker. Yet. Any fix for those of us in new homes, where every stinkin' outlet is GFI? Edited October 12, 2016 by Phlier

Change the breaker for that circuit to a regular breaker. ;-)
Phlier
Yeah, as soon as I do that, the next time I'm taking a bath while making toast won't end well.

Give up tub toast in order to use my case trimmer. The sacrifices we make for this hobby.
RichJacot
Well if your tube outlet is on the same circuit as your reloading room/area, you could put a GFI outlet next to the tub. ;-) lol
