  1. Switching over the primer on a 550 and 650 is super easy. I think the advantages are the 5th station, case feeder and auto index. I have never used a case feeder on my 550 though.
  2. Ok thanks. Will break it down and give it a good ultrasonic bath and cleaning.
  3. Sorry for the bad pic. It's not that, it's the vertical lines that look like light glare.
  4. Dillon has polished my trim die a few times already after this has happened in the past. Just trying to see why this happens though. After maybe 20k rounds it starts doing this.
  5. I use my RCBS flip tray and do them by hand. Gives me a break time between 200 rd batches.
  6. After I buy it, I will probably run both sensors. It still happens on occasion (if I have the optical decapping sensor off) where a primer gets pulled back in part way and jams up the machine and then send brass flying out of station 8.
  7. I don't really keep track, but I have been through a few. Definitely not hundreds of thousands.
  8. Do any of you guys with it switch form small primer to large often?
  9. I have a dedicated one for 223, but I have used it before and it works fine.
  10. I process 9mm, 223, 308 and 30-06 on my 1050 and just started doing 45acp. Those damn small primers!!!!! Even with the clutch at 0 or 1, the small primer brass makes it through and usually tears the rim off the case. I already have the F&FB swage rods and they work great, but am looking at the SWAGEsense. Any experience with it? Is it easier to switch from small to large than regular rods?
  11. I have never used an Ammobot, but I have a Mark 7 X and love it. I don't load on it, but I do process 9mm, 45acp, 223, 308 and 30-06
  12. Not sure, but pretty sure the center hole will be a different size. Just go to HD and play around with different parts.
  13. The Dillon trim die got down to the line where the case head starts. the rest of the brass was fine. But this happened to roughly 20 out of 3000.
  14. I got this from somebody a few years ago, just made a couple more so thought I would post it. Parts from Home Depot 1x DURA 1 in. Schedule 40 PVC Male Adapter $0.70 1x Mueller Global 1 in. x 5 in. Black Steel Nipple $2.39 1x 1 in. Black Malleable Iron Threaded Floor Flange $6.84 If you run the ratchet system you may need to get a longer pipe. This one is only 5" and fits mine perfect. Screw them down to a piece of wood or work bench then done.
  15. Processing some 5.56 for a customer and the Mark 7 clutch triggered when resizing some. I generally set the clutch to 1 or 2, but it would trigger at 3 and 4. Is this case head separation? I don't know anything about this brass like how many times it has been fired etc.
  16. Nah the primer didn't get stuck on the pin. It was a log jam inside the chute. The next time it happens I will take a pic of it. It happened a ton when doing a batch of 308.
  17. Just wondering if anyone has a fix for this? Sometimes spent large primers don't fall through and get stuck creating a log jam. It seems the spent primer chute was cut too small.
  18. I had that issue before too. I ended up buying a F&F shell plate and used a little more lube.
  19. I only run the optical decapper since I only process brass on my 1050. Works wonders though since the 1050 has a huge problem with dead primers getting pulled back in the pocket.
  20. I have them in all of my calibers. 1050 with a Mark 7. They are super well made. Much better steel and way less wobble. I had to replace a OEM Dillon once before. These only cost a little more and I can easily tell how much better they are.
  21. Drooool. That badboy cost more than DOUBLE my loaded 1050 with a Mark 7 X. hahha
  22. I process brass commercially, so I have some bigger ones. I use the Dillon CV-2001. When I was loading just for myself I used and loved the Cabelas one. http://www.cabelas.com/product/shooting/reloading/case-cleaning|/pc/104792580/c/104761080/sc/104661180/cabela-s-model-400-vibratory-case-tumbler-kit/731769.uts?destination=%2Fcatalog%2Fbrowse.cmd%3FN%3D1100197 It has a clear top which is nice, but it is VERY quiet and has a on/off switch on the cord. The gold pan is pretty useless as a separator. I currently use the big Dillon one.
