Is it wise to buy a used Tanfoglio?

I was looking at the EAA website and noticed this statement about the warranty:

"If the gun is a used handgun and the owner is not the original owner, then the factory warranty is no longer valid. EAA will still service the used handgun, but there will be an estimate for the repair."

Given the statement above is it smart to buy a used tanfo since the used price is typically only a small amount less than brand new? Has anyone actually run into this stipulation regarding their warranty?

The "discount" buying used can buy repair parts, should that need ever occur.   the platform is pretty straightforward, I wouldn't sweat it, but if you're not a tinkerer it might be a concern.

I've never owned a new one I've owned more than a dozen Tanfos and never has to deal with EAA on a warranty issue.

I suppose thats good to know if people aren't running into this ever. It was just curious why this would even matter to EAA or how they would even verify who the original owner was.

LIke Atlas, I have never owned a new one.  I've got 3 currently, and sold and open gun within the last year.  As long as it isn't abused, don't worry.

I shot a used Stock II at nationals without concern.  These guns are solid.

There's a new one on GB for $850 + $30 ship.  I'd snag it.
