DenverDave
Need some help from the pro's in the forum to help me fix a problem.Mounted a Double-Alpha C-More Mount on my new Gold Team (38 Super)Used the stainless screws provide, used blue locktite. (I did not use a torque wrench because I am note sure how many inch pounds to set it at)So every 100 rounds or so, the mount comes loose. I have not had this problem with my Gold Team 40 S&W.It has a C-More Serendipity on it, I have found I just need to check it every 300 rounds or so. So my question is....What is the trick to making the mount secure?Locktite red?How many inch pounds? Appreciate any help.
kneelingatlas
You might try different screws, I use some from my local hardware store with that dusted black finish and I don't even need Loctite.
niroth81
Definitely sounds like the wrong screws. Mine never move, but I do hit them with a drop of blue locktite.
BeerBaron
Stainless screws look great but the ones DAA provide are too soft. Mine needed constabt re-tightening. Then when finally tight the head stripped trying to remove it. It's better to use regular mild steel or even better the stronger 8.8 grade stuff. Doesn't look as pretty but works better. Also use red loctite. Leave it at least 24hrs to set up. That should do it.

niroth81
I'm also a fan of some little grub screws on the right side, just fills the holes nicely.
GrumpyOne
Try the new screws and red loctite. Let it sit for at least 24 hours after loctiting...

They are the ones to get. Stay away from the stainless ones. Edited May 10, 2016 by BeerBaron
kneelingatlas
If you still want a little bling you can polish the heads of the screws, I did that on one of mine and it turned out pretty nice; not quite chrome, but shiny.
