Svi Thumb Safety

Recommended Posts

Hi!

I own a SV Infinity in caliber .40S&W.

The ambidextrous thumb safety has a tendency to part, especially when shooting left hand.

The two halves “slides apart” and the little spring and rod for the safety comes loose.

No problems while shooting right hand.

Any tips on how to make them fit tighter together?

replace it..

no need for parts coming off a gun when you are competing..

get an ed brown or king..the ed brown is pinned in by the frame and the King uses its hammer pin to to keep it in..

no more parts coming off.. :D

Look at the pins that go in to the frame/grip safety, take the female side and bend the ends together slightly so that you have to push firmly between both thumbs to get them all the way together. They are a little hard to bend, I usually tap on them gently with a hammer.

Fredrik,

I think what Benny want you to do is to put an angle where the plunger touches the safety. The angle must be towards the outside for the plunger to hold the safety in place.

If I'm not mistaken, you got Patrik's old gun right?
