3djedi
On my STi guns when you drop the hammer to half cock and pull the trigger the hammer doesn't fall. On my new custom 2011 if the hammer is half cock and you pull the trigger it the hammer falls. I thought I read this half cock trigger pull was a safety check and shouldn't fall but I can't remember for sure. Does it matter that the hammer drops from half cock on the new gun? 3djedi
I should also note that the half cock position is much shorter than I've seen before. It's very close to the firing pin. Sent from my LG-D850 using Tapatalk
Slostang
I wouldn't be worried about it at all. For what these guns are built for the half cock is a useless feature IMO.
bokbok_05
Is that a Koenig hammer in your pistol? It's a common "issue" with Koenig hammer (if that's an issue at all). I dont worry that much if I were you.

PatJones
Not all half cock notches capture the sear.
BeerBaron
You can grind the half cock notch off the hammer completely if you like. No more half cock.
3djedi
Everything else seems to be fine. I just didn't know if this was an issue or not. Sent from my LG-D850 using Tapatalk
bokbok_05
"Some hammers have a passive halfcock and some have positive half cock. As long as the hammer goes to halfcock then it is working. Whether it falls when the trigger is pulled when it is at halfcock doesnt matter, some will(passive) , some wont(positive), the thing that matters is that it stops at halfcock in the first place." Quoting from the post of 2005. This will be check at chrono stage of IPSC lev 2 match or higher or equivalent level in USPSA. As long as the hammer stops at halfcock its good to go.
