EDA
Looking for a backup for my Brazos Pro Series .40 Limited. Anyone have both or have shot both enough to go with one over the other? Thanks!
davsco
as i understand it, the brazos hp has a reliability check/work and a trigger job done. the crp is pretty much bolt on parts, but sometimes dawson may do a supertune pkg which is similar to what brazos does. Cowboy1629
I haven't shot both but I do own a Brazos HP Edge and it has functioned 100% of the time, the shooter not so much.
SWprotected
I bought a CRP Edge from Dawson. They add parts to them but they are stock guns, mine worked fine out of the box but if you are shooting a custom now you are going to want to do some work to a CRP gun i would think. 1911A12011
In my opinion, it would be better for you to get the Brazos because it's fitted for short reset and over travel (compared to Dawson as mentioned on this tread that they just put the parts together and call it CRP). Another Brazos benefit I can think of is when you go to major matches (e.g. USPSA Area and Nationals) they are always there to adjust and tuned the way you like it (free for you). You can also watch them tune it and you can learn it).
