NMBOpen
Original barrel shows hairline crack full circumference just in front of lug that captures guide rod. Looking for sources/recommendations. Edited October 17, 2015 by NMBOpen
davidwiz
Barsto - that's what EGW used when they built my HP.

Dan Sierpina
Are you sure it's not a 2 piece barrel?

ltdmstr
Are you sure it's not a 2 piece barrel? Mine came with a two-piece barrel and the "seam" is quite noticeable. So that's probably what you see. As for replacement, Barsto is the only one I know of, and I think they run the Hi-Power barrels only once a year, so unless they happen to have one in stock, you may have to wait a while to get one. NMBOpen
Wasn't aware of two piece pistol barrels before this. The crack does appear to be a visible joint seam. Amazing what you can learn in the Enosverse.
Dan Sierpina
When Springfield Armory first started making / selling 1911's, the barrels used were two piece. The silver braze line was easily visible. It's a cost reduction technique.
