Slidestop
I've been looking at some of my Blade Tech holsters, and I can see where there are "rough" spots along the edges, that might cut into the finish of the gun. Is it advisable to sand this area down to smooth it with maybe 400 then 1000 grit emery paper?
Sarge
Plastic should not be able to cut a finish. The gun will eventually start to show a lot of wear anyway and bluing will rub off over time no matter what
9x45
which model BladeTech? the injection molded Revolution or the folded laminate Black Ice? The laminate ones are glass smooth on the iinside and the injection molded ones , are well, not as smooth. Neither should hurt gun, and if it's a Glock, is supposed to get beat up. What's the difference between a hammer and a Glock? The hammer has better ergonomics........
BillD
Plastic being rough, or dirt in the plastic will definitely hurt a finish. Especially an STI factory finish.
Slidestop
They are all the folded type, DOH. I do think the edges are less rough now at the top and above the trigger guard. The Edge is HC, 1911 stainless, and the CZ, well, polycoate. There is not much wear on the guns. I'll have to practice/shoot more!
valerko
If there's no wear on your slide , you're no using your gun enough or you're doing it wrong. Lol
biglou13
Send me the blade tech holster ( czspo1). ......you won't have problems with holster any more.. The metal and finish on any decent gun is harder than kydex or plastic...... Holster wear from use is different thing. Chances are your gun is scratching holster.... But sand it anyway for peace of mind.....
