  1. I got it. I used a pair of needle nose to stretch the hook part of the spring forward, using the needle nose plyers between the spring and the front of the follower, to pull it forward. Needless to say, I will NEVER buy those again.
  2. The Dawson follower is compatable with the stock STI spring. Do I need to trim the hook enough to slide from the "side" of the front of follower . I've brim trying to get it "over" the slotted area. Do I fit the hook part in the front of the follower then get the whole loop over the back of the follower, Or do I put the spring over the back of the follower, then try to put the cut part of the hook over the front of the follower? I did 4 before before I got the Grams follower and springs. I just don't get this one. Thanks, George. Very frustrating for for what seems to be a simple thing.
  3. What is the trick in getting the follower on an STI spring. I've cut the extra off the loop, but for the life of me, i can't get the follower on the spring. I have Grams guts in all of my other mags, but this one is a 126mm I believe that came with my Edge, and I had an extra follower. i use it for a Barney mag. I've been fighting with this damn thing for three days now. Whats the trick? The spring just won't open far enough to fit. Do I fit the "hooked" end of the spring first or the other end? Geez, it can't be that difficult! The instructions say, "Then just snap the spring on the follower and go have fun!" Yeah right.
  4. My Speer reloading manual specifically states that it does not recommend 147gr and heavier bullets for carbine use. It states 147gr was made for barrels 10 inches and under. I guess it's a concerned about squibs. Pages 755 and 852. I thought I remembered something about it when I read the original post, and just found the information.
  5. No, not yours. You've got a beauty there! I've been looking also. My day will come.
  6. I see an open gun in my future.
  7. Nimitz- Are you using an IPad? I am, and cannot open any links either. The only time they will open, is if I go to the mobile version at the bottom left on the page.
  8. I've used FP10 for years, and have been happy with it. I bought Weaponshield to see the difference, and in my opinion, it seems a bit thicker, doesn't evaporate, and stays put. As for preventing wear, I can't say I see any difference. I will continue using it.
  9. I'm wondering if it's anything like the STI recoil master. I removed it from my Edge and installed regular recoil springs. I didn't like the double "bump" feeling it gave with slide return.
  10. Unloaded except for primers. Hornady LNL.
  11. Harbor Freight has a rotary tumbler for $43 single, or $55 for the double. I use something similar from my lapidary days long ago. Just say'in.
  12. I broke down and bought the Cz Custom sight pusher. It is pricey, but I can move the sights in small increments. I guess it comes down to cost of installing, shipping, and possibly having to adjust the sight again after the install. I just wish the price on the pusher was less. It's a good tool. I used 1000 grit automotive sand paper from Wal Mart, and a flat surface to remove metal from the bottom of the sight, until it fit.

    Cz shadow loads

All good information. Can we also share which cz gun the data is for? (If it's not already posted.)
  14. Not sure what your intended purpose for your gun is, but LPA makes a decent one.
  15. I'm sure you will be pleased when it's returned. I would not have accepted it that way either. Just my 2 cents.

I've got the same exact results with the Acme 147gr fp in my SP01. With 1.10, some would still touch the lands, so I reduced the oalto 1.095. As I bought 500 to try, I guess I'll stick with them for a while. On a side note, the Bayou 147gr fp can be loaded out to 1.14. I really wanted to try the Acme without the lube groove. I should have bought a trial pack, as I usually do, but I just KNEW that these would work.
  17. At 1.12 are they touching the lands, or is my chamber super short? I guess it would be the throat or leade, not chamber.
  18. Welcome to the forum. I love to see ladies getting involved in our sport. Shoot straight, and be safe.
  19. .526 average, and approx .220-.224.
  20. Would you care to share what that.........er............gun consists of?Very interesting!
  21. I bought their "race" holster with the open front. I don't think I even put it on my belt. There was absolutely no retention on my Edge. I felt as though the gun would just fall out. I think that's why the picture of it is canted to the rear so much. It's basically just a cradle. I know that's not what you asked though. I was giving an opinion of an open front Blade Tech. I went with the regular DOH. The Boss unit will probably be in my future.
  22. I received my 500 round order from Acme. The bullets look really nice. The box is cool too! The smell of the scorched wood reminds me of camping in upstate New York. But I digress- Where I am loading the Bayou bullets out to 1.14, I settled on an oal of 1.095 for the Acme. I tried to keep them at 1.10 just for a easy number to remember, but I could tell a few were barely touching the lands. At 1.095 they dropped in, and after spinning and pushing on them, they fell out after inverting the barrel. I will say that that's a lot of bullet in the case. Now to see how they perform.
