What size grit for silicon carbide grip?

I tried no. 60 but it hurts my hand when I dryfire a lot. I went 80, felt better but still abrade my palm a bit when new. I have soft thin skin in my palm.

Depends a lot on your practice routine and palm texture. Most use 60.

No mate. My STI bottom end is 12 months old now, no signs of chipping or anything. I did my mag well too. And some has come off it. Because it was a painted shiny surface I reckon.

No I didn't reduce the grip, I just preped the grip with metho then taped off my diamonds and STI logo with builders tape. Then trowled the JB weld in with one side of an art knife.
