New York maybe?

Recommended Posts

NO !!!

Actually, it can be done, but it's tricky.

Especially for handguns.

Places to shoot on Long Island (the LI Expressway is called a 75 mile long parking lot:))

Probably a lot simpler for shotguns and skeet/trap shooting.

Don't forget, no mags with more than 10 rounds (rifle or pistol) - don't even consider

bringing hi cap mags into NYS.

Someone who actually lives in NYC will be along soon with more details.

Are you actually going to live in NYC (Manhattan, Bronx, Brooklyn, Queens or SI)??

Or in a suburb?

Actually, Pennsylvania and Connecticut used to be much better states - not sure

about CT now, since that school shooting few years ago.

I did shoot at the facilities. Facilities are great and the guys are great.

BUT, I never went back - couldn't face another ride on the Long Island Expressway.

NYC suck. Unlike most other states , NY is complicated .Depending on county you live in , if you finally do get a pistol permit and are "allowed" to have one , your permit expires as soon as you hit city limits. It's pretty much impossible for regular person to get pistol permit in city. Soooo, I repeat NYC Suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuucks even more then just NY state

I lived 20 miles north of NYC for 30+ years. Finally got a job that enabled me to travel and see there is so much out there ( and BETTER ) than what you will find in NY. It's only getting worse. I moved to SC and can't ever see myself leaving. When I go back to NY to visit my parents, i enjoy the time i spend with them, but count the minutes until i can leave and go back home.

NY and NYC are two different planets in two different dimensions, sadly both ruled by the same evil overlords.

Upstate NY is a beautiful place with wonderful people.

NYC is actually a nice place to visit and has some really nice people, The museums and much of the architecture is worth the pain of going there. Sadly the 5 counties plus the bordering counties and parts of CT overshadow the rest with their utopian/socialist/extreme left viewpoints and Upstate suffers.

If one could only cut along the dotted line and tow the City (and certain parts of SW CT and NE NJ) out to sea.

So the answer to your question, New York Maybe? Is WHY?????

There are some really fantastic places to visit, but I have to admit, I stick to the main areas, get in and get out.

Rockefeller Center

The NY Public Library

Bryant Park

Grand Central Station

The Museums

The new and much cleaned up Times Square

Macy's at Christmas

Radio City, take the back stage tour. See if you can do that when you can get to the actual stage workings.

Not really a place I need to or want to be in more than very occasionally.
