9mm major CK Arms Thunder Open gun Chrono results

amp

Recommended Posts

I took my new open gun to the range to do some chrono work this weekend.

My results are below, I started low and worked my way up.

But the results have me a bit uncertain.

I did not expect my starting loads to make major but I did get to major PF with a lot less powder than I expected.

My chrono has always been pretty accurate but maybe something is not quite right with it.

Competition Electronics ProChrono Digital Chronograph is the model.

Thoughts?

Seems about right. I have a Phoenix Trinity built gun with a KKM barrel, Cheely comp and 2 popple holes. The major load I run is 115 Xtreme plated bullet with 7.8 grains of Autocomp loaded at 1.169". From my chrono data my Max V was 1572, Min V was 1510. Averages out to 176PF.

Sounds good, I will keep rolling with it, I have some 7.6 and 7.8 loaded up to run.

It just seemed a bit low on powder to achieve the results

It is not, it is just the KKM that CK puts in it.

Cheeley Comp and 3 holes in the bbl.

In my experience with KKM 9 barrels, the barrels are faster than most.
